"I'm a surgeon. I've come to fix this woman. I just...happened to be in the neighborhood."
Sig! It was Sig! Hunter's blood froze at the sight of a weapon being aimed at his best friend.
"Lies."
"Shut up," Hunter replied to the trash can as Robin tried to make the army men see things clearly.
“This place is unknown to us. We don’t know who here can be trusted and who cannot. And as we have learned, they now know they can trust you. Please trust us now.”
The army man was about to reply, but a woman came forward and he split the difference between the older blonde man and her with the aim of his weapon.
"We come in peace."
It looked like a truck had run over her head, leaving its treadmarks upon her forehead, and she was wobbling, so his assumption may actually be true.
"Will you quit threatening my best friend," Hunter shouted. "Listen. We're all a little on edge, but we're all good people. Can't we all just-"
Oscar popped his head out of his can. "You guys do realize the time, right," he asked.
The army men all tilted their bodies backwards so they could look up at the sky. "He's right," one of them replied. "We need to get back. Load up, all of you!"
Tugging on Hunter's sleeve, Oscar leered at the human. "I'd do as he says, if I were you."
With a swift movement, Hunter pulled his arm away from the soiled green puppet and hurried back to the group, specifically to Sig's side now that the army man had stopped behaving in a threatening manner. "You don't look so hot," he said to his friend, then looked at Liz. "And neither do you, whoa there-" Walking didn't seem to be high on the list of available skills for the Klingon at the moment, so he helped her to the vehicle.
The toys that still had vocal capabilities accelerated their wailings, adding an intensity to the speed at which they all hopped into the vehicle. Ania was tossed back in the back when they were all loaded, and Hunter was relieved to hear her utter a small sound of pain, indicating that she might be awakening soon.
The truck bounced over the rough road, the engine whining at top speed. Everyone in the back of the truck, inside the shell, had to hold on to keep from being thrown this way or that as the vehicle swerved. Suddenly, there were thuds on top of the shell, followed by the sight of claws or talons puncturing the plastic.
"This just keeps getting better," Hunter cringed.
