"I'm sorry, Lieutenant, but I don't drink synthehol, it gives me pretty bad acid heartburn."
A number of responses flew through Taylor's mind, which finally resulted in a bemused stare. She had heard of bad reactions to real alcohol but synthehol? The idea of being 'allergic' to that stuff was almost hilarious, but also kinda sad. Like those that were lactose intolerant, they never got to experience rarmigiano reggiano cheese.
"This is the real deal, sweetheart." The bartender said, eavesdropping on the conversation a little, as any good barman did in these sorts of places.
Taylor nodded, "I'm pretty sure there's a sign outside that says something about 'hard stuff'." She said thoughtfully as she tried to remember. "Unless you mean something else by that," Taylor eyed with a crooked eyebrow at the barman.
He smiled and chuckled, "Just the regular hard drinks here. Nothing more."
Taylor grinned, "Uh huh... I might be back to check on that." She teased before downing one of the shots, a content sigh escaping her lips as the liquid burned down her throat. "Now that's no dirt." She muttered.
The bartender caught that last utterance and raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Suddenly the door whooshed open, allowing entrance to an abundance of noise as slews of patrons began entering the place and catching Taylor's attention briefly.
"A lot of people around this time, I think a lot of work shifts end over at the moonbase and they come on over here." The bartender explained.
"So much for a quiet time," Taylor said though she wasn't the least bit concerned, she liked a more rowdier environment.
"Gonna keep working on that?" Taylor asked Athena, having noted her working on something. Maybe notes on a novel, a report, or just, whatever. As she waited for a response Taylor took the glass she gave to Athena and downed that one as well.
"Mmm, well, as I was saying earlier, you need some loosin', so what does a girl like you do for fun? Other than reading in a tavern and getting interrupted by a lovely redhead with great hair?" She asked.
Maybe horse-riding, she looked like that type of girl. Swimming? She looked like she could be a good swimmer, but she doubted her enjoyment with the sport. Yoga maybe? Taylor made a face as she imagined Athena turning around and saying 'exotic dance', that would be the best response, even if she was lying.
