As soon as they were out of the truck, Sig took control of Ania, following a soldier into a cargo area of the depot. Robin, on the other hand, grabbed a weapon and headed back across the field toward a lumbering lizard creature. The scientist turned his head one way, looking at the CMO's back, and then the other, watching Robin get smaller and smaller. Closing his eyes tight for a second, he cursed, then absconded with another weapon from a soldier and tore after Robin.
By the time he caught up with him, Robin was already in trouble. The glow of the plates on the creature's back intensified, indicating that something was about to go down. Godzilla opened up his mouth and he spewed out another bolt of pure energy. Grabbing Robin by the arm, Hunter pulled him away, causing only the pilot's shoes to melt slightly. "Are you crazy," he shouted at Robin while searching the ground. Somewhere during the rescue, he had dropped his weapon.
A spurt of blood caught his eye and he stared at the winged monkey for a microsecond before his attention was drawn to the other figure, one who was trying to free herself from its grip.
"Is that-?"
Godzilla answered for all of them, his roar so deep it could be felt in their chests, and Hunter startled back to business. Finally finding his gun, he aimed and pulled what appeared to be the trigger, but nothing happened. "If you're going to pull one of those pilot miracles out of your pocket, now's the time," he shouted.
