"We picked him up from that planet. Apparently...he's the mastermind of it all."
Grace's eyes widened. "He's the what?" she asked. She was certain that she had heard him correctly, but almost wanted Sig to repeat himself to make sure her hearing hadn't suffered any damage back on that planet. It didn't make any sense to her. How could a boy have been responsible for all of that? Still... the planet had been filled with living toys.
"Starfleet is trying to locate any distant family. You can read the report if you'd like."
Grace nodded. She was all set to do just that when Security came into the room with yet another stranger in tow. It seemed that things hadn't missed a beat in once again becoming eventful now that they were back on the Talon. Instinct told Grace to jump back into the fray, but it seemed that the rest of the staff had other ideas. Both Tad and Habot move quickly to help Sig with the patient. For the time being, Grace simply stood to the side, listening to the exchange. Still, she couldn't stifle the desire to jump right back into the swing of things, despite previously having been told that she was on light duty only.
"Sorry, Dr. Ericson, she's an unknown subject. We were just mindin' our own business, mostly, when our guest here beamed in. They were upright for two shakes of a lamb's tail before hitting the deck."
Grace could see now that hanging around Eden was certainly having quite an effect. She found that she actually understood most of the young Lieutenant's analogy that time. It was then that Lieutenant Commander Jenison began to offer her own commentary as well.
“Whatever technology she used to transport is unlike any I’ve seen. It sounded bizarre. I believe it also is responsible for the tachyon radiation you discovered in her body. My office was flooded with tachyons shortly after her arrival.”
"I was going to ask if we could track where she beamed from, but I think we also need to consider...when."
Grace's eyes widened at the prospect that Sig was suggesting. Her eyes moved to the young woman lying on the biobed. She had always heard of temporal aberrations, but never expected to actually witness one. To be honest, part of her thought they were likely myths used to both tease and intrigue cadets back at the Academy.
"Go ahead and scan her. See if you can find her in any of the databases."
"I can do that," Grace volunteered. She didn't wait affirmation, as she pressed a few buttons on the panel behind the biobed. As the scanners scanned the patient, it proceeded to run its readings through the ship's database as well as any of the other databases the Federation was privy to for any sort of match. It was simply a waiting game now. Her eyes watched as a flurry of images and files blinked across the screen. She glanced back over her shoulder, watching as Nurse Habot proceeded to scan both Eden and Alyssa.
Grace's attention seemed to be all over the place. She couldn't help but wonder what she'd awakened to: A boy responsible for all those things on the planet in Sig's office, an intruder that was possibly a time traveler (not that Grace was convinced), and somehow her thoughts briefly lingered to the Captain. She couldn't help but feel a flurry of anxiousness and anticipation of their next conversation.
