"If the sensors had been tampered with, Ensign, I'd know about it,"
Perhaps, but it wouldn't have been the first time in history that these things had been tampered with without anyone immediately aware of the fact. Not that he was privvy to the exact details of the hows. He was no engineer or computer guy, after all, just a slightly paranoid security officer.
Turning his attention back to the bar owner, the commander asked if he was feeling alright. He was looking better, but the man had a point when he mentioned the fact that his statement would probably be invalid. At least he'd been able to vouch for the man, confirming Hargreaves story of just what had occurred. It took his mind off the Talon situation, at least, but for how long? Hopefully for Marak's sake, he would be found soon and then he would have to face whatever had happened over there. If he was ever informed.
As the questions kept coming, Diran continued to answer in a calm and professional manner, until it seemed that there was nothing left to ask. for the time being, at least, and he nodded as he was thanked for his contribution, along with that of Hargreaves. A small smile seemed to creep up on the zaldan as the man made it clear that he would be happy to try again for a more welcoming introduction. Humans were such a forgiving species, though at least the slight in this case had been relatively minor.
The commander then stood up sharply and tapped his combadge, reporting to the station captain and informing him of the situation. When asked how to proceed, the man responded how Diran had thought he might. Try and quell any rumours...that would be easier said than done. Hopefully though, it wouldn't be his problem, but then it seemed that wouldn't be the case, as he was motioned toward the other security officer. At least now, he could do his job and actually be useful. He just wished he could have been more useful to the Talon right now.
End Diran (if appropriate)
