“Another pair of eyes. DS10 thoroughly examined Jayin’s quarter’s for evidence of foul play. They found none. Everything that was hers is gone. Commander Thoris’s working theory is that she either secretly booked passage or stowed away on a recently departing vessel.”
His eyes narrowed at the thought of the young woman traipsing about the galaxy so soon after her arrival. It was too soon, though he wondered if he would ever think it right that she was allowed anywhere at all.
“They were supposed to be keeping an eye on her, and she just slips through their fingers?”
"Hm," Victor muttered, the monosyllable the only indication of this thoughts regarding DS10's security team and their abilities.
“I plan to review their records of her activities. Maybe something she did will clue in to where she went.”
"Captain Tyne's been very..." He glanced at Nathan, not sure he should be saying any of this in front of the Civilian. Thus, he mentally retracted what he was about to say. "...careful...when sharing intel."
"Home."
His eyes were still on the man. "What?"
"Maybe she went home. To find somebody who would help her try to get back. We'll find her."
"Home where," Victor asked. "There's nowhere in this universe she belongs." He swore to himself and gave Alyssa an apologetic glance. "Is there trace of any rifts on DS10? How do we know she's even still in this timeline?" Shaking his head, he picked up his PADD that was lying on the table and began tapping rapidly on the surface. "Lieutenant Hunter showed us how easy it is to simply leave DS10 on a Romulan vessel, so I'm not discounting any departing ship until we know for certain. Has anyone notified the Captains of those vessels?"
