Only a day had passed since the chaos. It felt like longer, but time went slowly when a crazed doctor tried to shoot several people and help to spread a Starfleet-made disease that could wipe out billions. Isaac had been dismissed from sickbay a few after the commotion finally died down; luckily his wounds weren't severe enough for him to remain there. Though others weren't so fortunate. Commander Roman still lay in a coma to Isaac's knowledge, and Dr Williams' body was in the morgue. He wasn't sure about anyone else, not even the bastard who shot him. Isaac hoped that man would suffer, a desire which made him uneasy.
Dressed in a black pair lounge pants and a black hoodie, Isaac slipped into the Eagles' Nest's store room, snuck a bottle of rhubarb gin out of his small reserve and grabbed two glasses. He heard a woman clear her throat behind him, and he jumped slightly.
"Raiding the kitchens, hmm?" his colleague said, a light smile on her face.
"Look, Seong I-"
"Don't worry, it's still technically yours," the woman replied. "Just don't... don't abuse it." He nodded to her, and she patted him on the shoulder before returning to the kitchenette. Isaac then stepped back out into the corridor and walked towards the arboretum, hoping for some peace and quiet, away from the almost feverish urgency of the engineers walking the corridors... though these days he rarely seemed to get any respite.
The doors whooshed open to the sound of lightly running water and artificial breeze. Isaac was alone. Sitting down on the nearby bench, he poured himself a glass and sipped it slowly as he waited for the commander to arrive.
It was strange. He'd only just met the man properly yet Isaac felt drawn to Caspian, even if he wasn't ready to start... healing the wounds he'd sustained in a full capacity. Isaac surmised that the man was affected by what he'd seen too, how could anyone not be? Yet he seemed to manage, and Isaac couldn't. How? He hoped he'd find out soon.
