He was weak, she could see that. It made her scared to think of him like that, but she tried not to dwell on it. He was still here... he'd be ok. They'd find a cure for him. He'd be better again. She had to believe it, else she didn't know what she'd do.

She nodded, hopefully. Anything at all. She'd give anything, do anything... that thought was scary in itself.
He stood and stepped towards her, and she reached out to steady him. She blinked at him as he took off her glasses and put them down on the table, not really sure where this was going but willing to go along with it, wherever it led.
"What I want you to do... is to believe me when I say... I love you."
Georgie let out a little gasp, her mouth making a silent 'o'. Her heart felt like it'd stopped, her world frozen around her. Had he really just... just said...
I love you.
Slowly, a smile spread across her face. It lit her soul like a fire, the joy spreading through her, shining out through her eyes as she gazed happily at him.
"I... I believe you," she replied, her voice quietly excited. "I... I love you too, William."
She reached out, her fingers lightly grazing along his cheek like she was feeling his skin for the first time. Hesitantly, her fingers trailed upwards, finding his unusually long locks of hair which she pushed back out of his eyes.
"I love you," she said again, her voice more certain and sure, and her smile spread a little wider. She leant forwards, and kissed him softly on the end of his nose. "I love you," she murmured a third and final time.
