"Under the circumstances, a more direct approach was necessary. And yes.. I do know."
Sig just took in a calming breath and concentrated on what he was doing. Whatever you say, Yaxley. There was no way a medication would have transmitted faster through the tough Cardassian chest than through the jugular, which was closer to the surface than any vessel in the chest. The hypospray had no needles. Nothing was plunged into the body. Sig just didn't know what to think about the maneuver he had witnessed.
"I'm ready to relocate the spine. Stand back."
Everyone moved back and everyone in the room cringed at the sound of the Cardassian's bones being wrenched back into place.
"Repair the damage to his internals. Make the spleen your priority."
Williams and Sig's eyes met briefly. "Are you sure," Sig asked.
"This is Lieutenant Lazbara Hann to all USS Talon crewmembers. Please make your way back to the ship as repairs will be completed shortly. Our departure from SGE will proceed shortly after. Hann out."
"Damn...I didn't get to say goodbye to Vincent."
"Neural activity is off the charts!"
"What?" They should be dropping, not rising. "Where's it coming from? What part?"
"The amygdala and the prefrontal cortex. He's dreaming." Williams shrugged.
"No," Sig said. "The prefrontal cortex isn't involved in dreaming. It's the logic center. He's trying to figure something out." This was bizarre. "Are you sure he's sedated?"
Williams checked the levels. "Absolutely."
Sig looked at Yaxley. "Maybe it's the massive brain bleed that causing it." If he hinted any louder he'd be holding up a neon sign. "But I'll work on that lacerated spleen..."
