Emmarie tried her hardest not to gawk as the surgeons worked away at their patient. She knew that if it was her there on that biobed, she wouldn't want people trying to see her struggled for survival. But when Rychel was brought to Dakbar's side, her curiosity overwhelmed her, and she discretely peeked over to see what was going on. She had to admit, a relationship between a Bajoran and a Cardassian seemed a bit on the odd side, but she had to admit that she wasn't one to talk. She overheard Dakbar's rant against the Vedek quite clearly, and her eyes widened in surprise. She couldn't believe that the doctors weren't doing anything to stop it, but perhaps Cardassians just didn't respond well to being ill.
She stood up, and was about to leave, but then Ludir walked out of the room, and Rychel and Dakbar seemed to be settling down for some rest. She sat back down, and soon enough Sig was approaching.
"Thanks for waiting. I'm afraid things have been pretty hectic."
"It's no problem, I understand," Emmarie responded with a smile. She followed him into his office, still uncertain what precisely to say to him. If she ended up conceiving, she was going to be spending an awful large amount of time in Sickbay, and she really didn't want to do so if Sig hated her. She took a seat, exhaling deeply as she tried to get her nerves under control.
"So... what's new?"
She laughed, "Well, I think you've probably figured out most of it. Actually, scratch that, I'm sure you don't know about the part where Georgia blamed me for her fiance's infidelity, despite the fact that I didn't actually realize he was engaged until... well, when you passed us by in the corridor." She hoped that letting Sig know up front that she hadn't realized Hunter was engaged that he would judge her a bit less harshly.
