The red alert klaxon awoke Rychel from a fitful, drug-induced sleep, as her engineer's instincts had her half out of bed before she realized just what exactly she was doing. But the shock of pain that coursed through her body when she tried to get out of bed reminded her of the fact that she was still relieved of duty. While she was nowhere near as bad off as she had been earlier, the medical team was still holding off on a few more procedures to give her body time to adjust to all of the trauma it had been through. Even once that was done, it would likely still be a bit before the headaches went away, as her brain recovered from all of the stress that had occured to it as the result of the fall.
She wondered how Dakbar was, but she resisted the urge to call him. She knew that he was likely confined to quarters until he was better as well. At least they had been let out of the Sickbay. Rychel hated being there, it made her feel like she was some invalid on display for anyone who happened to get a boo boo on their shift that warranted a visit to Sickbay.
She sighed, flopping back down on her bed. She wasn't really sure what to do with herself for the moment. Her head hurt too much to read, and there wasn't too much else tht she could do alone in bed. "I wish I was still an ensign," she said with a sigh. At least then, she would have a roommate to keep her occupied for a bit. But she had no roommate, and not that many people whom she could call a friend, which was largely due to how much time she'd been spending with Helik. "I'm a big girl, I can't rely on him for everything," she said softly running her fingers through her hair. While the Sickbay staff had done their best to clean her off, there was still a bit of matted blood and dust mucking up her hair, and she sighed loudly. The plan had been for one of the medics to stop in and check on her every few hours, but said plan had flown right out the window when Shore Leave had been granted.
The door chime for her room went off, and before she consciously considered what she was doing, she'd said, "Enter." She then swore softly under her breath. After all she'd been through, why hadn't she learned her lesson about being more careful about things?! Fortunately, though, the figure who entered was someone that was more or less unthreatening, despite how infuriating he could be.
"What are you doing here?" She said, exhaustion making her tone more aggressive than she had meant to be.
