Dorian walked through the corridors of his ship. It wasn't his normal ground eating stride because he didn't want to stress his wife any more than she already was. Klingon or no, she'd asked for her abrasions and lacerations to be healed and that certainly was not typical of a Klingon. It spoke to him of a deeply disturbing experience on the planet's surface.
The trip to their quarters didn't really take them all that long, even though it may have seemed like an eternity to Dorian. The corridors of the Talon were busy with officers and crew rushing here and there in response to the current emergency.
Red Alert pulsed sullenly everywhere, but the sight of the Captain made the crew put their backs against the walls to get out of his way when they saw him approaching.
He offered her support without being obvious about it and soon they had arrived at the Captain's quarters. He thumbed the lock and the door slid open to admit them.
Once they were both inside the door closed. He had modified the settings in his quarters so that at least there were no klaxon's blaring. He went to the replicator and ordered an analgesic.
He handed the pills and a glass of water to Kinin. "Why don't you get rid of those clothes and we'll get you healed up," he offered. He had brought the dermal regenerator with him from the runabout and was ready to get back to work. He still had some questions though.
"Kinin," he tried to look into her eyes. "You said there was blood. How much, do you know?"
He didn't want to believe that the denizens of Salor had robbed Kinin of her chance to redeem herself in her own eyes by giving his house an heir.
His concern for the child she bore was second to his concern for her health and sanity. He didn't want her to have to try and deal with the death of another infant, not after everything else she'd gone through.
"I love you. I hope you know that."
