When the call came in from the bridge to make Macbeth ready for flight Chloe jumped up from her console where she'd been watching the battle readouts and made best speed to the docking bay.
Marta was close on her tail the whole way. Though they tended to team up quite a bit Chloe had told her just the other day that she was ready for the prime seat.
She smiled at her friend as they both skidded into the lift. Down they went to the underbelly of the disk and the boarding entry to Macbeth.
Crews were loading up the magazine with not only Photon Torpedoes but she even saw a pair of the much more devastating Quantum torpedoes.
She lifted a brow at the impressive fire power. She knew they were in a hard spot and the Mehtak were proving hard to kill but using any sort of torpedo in a planetary atmosphere was shear folly. It wasn't her job to make that point and she knew it. But what it indicated to her was that perhaps they were going after something else.
She figured she'd know soon enough as she slid into the pilot seat. They ran through their checklist in short order and she reported MacBeth ready to the bridge.
Now it was only a matter of time until a Commander showed up to take charge of the mission and let her know what the plan was.
It could be M'Khol or Tyne, even Ericson though she rather doubted the latter. She rubbed her hands together and wiggled her finger to loosen up in the one nervous move she'd allow herself.
Marta laughed at her. "You should chill," she grinned.
"Easy for you to say," she replied. She knew she'd settle once they started. Her concentration on her task was all consuming when she flew. It always had been, even when she was young. Her parents had accused her of having ice water in her veins.
Right now she was feeling far from it.
She reached back to pull her hair into a quick pony tail and pulled a band off her wrist to secure it in a rough knot at the back of her neck.
Then she heard footsteps coming down the ramp.
"Ready to go sir, " she called before she could even identify who it was.
