"I want that ship scanned in everyway possible to try and ascertain any confirmation of something illegal is being carried on that vessel. If there is, I want a team inside there to find out what it is..."
"Aye, Commander," said Henri. The only thing she had been waiting for was an excuse. She hadn't wanted to be intrusive into the Valdan's privacy, but clearly the situation had called for it, and with the Commander's permission, she was more than ready to oblige. Her hands continued to move across the keyboard as the display of the Zaldan vessel appeared on her console. She proceeded to run a myriad of scans. She wasn't necessarily looking to find what the field was concealing, but attempting to discern how the field was shielding it. Once she discovered that, getting a reading on what the Zaldans were trying to hide would be more than easy.
"You have the command center, Commander, whilst I will pay a visit to their Captain. The Etimon traffic will only last for so long."
Henri looked up from her console for only a moment to watch Commander Richards leave the Command Center. Her eyes then turned towards Commander Tykat, whom he had left in charge. The Tellarian turned to speak to Lieutenant Vance. Clearly he had decided to review with her proper protocol regarding the chain of command. Henri said nothing, but continued to work on her scans. Her eye brow arched as something clearly came up on her screen which appeased her. "Gotcha!"
"Are you able to penerate the shielding?"
Braddock looked up at Tykat as he asked. She paused a moment longer as she finished making the proper calibrations and then nodded. It had simply been a matter of calibrating the stations sensors to harmonize with the frequency the Zaldan's distortion field was operating on. Once that was done it was rather simple to decipher the readings through the feedback she'd been receiving earlier. "Yes, sir," she said. Her eyes began to survey the screen and slowly the smile on her face began to fade. "Commander Tykat. I'm detecting an unknown substance. It's possibly native to the Gamma Quadrant, but... it's giving off energy levels similar to those of trilitium. However, it doesn't appear to be very stable."
Her eyes glanced up at Commander Tykat. She didn't think she needed to volunteer much more, for anything beyond that point would be a conjecture. Still, what could it hurt. "Sir, considering the amount of this element they're carrying... the blast radius...." Her voice trailed off.
