"Well I try to have my own perspective on things, and being half Vulcan and half Human really open my eyes to emotions and how they work. I'm still learning though."
Sig was silent as he weighed the best way to say what was on his mind. While he thought, she introduced herself and asked if she and Diego could be excused so that they could go rest. Sig glanced out the window toward the other doctor. "Sig," he said to her, offering his name in exchange for the one she had given earlier. He hoped she knew when it was appropriate to use her superior's name and when it was not. "Your comment about emotions is interesting," he said. "You claim that you're still learning, yet you chose a profession that by it's very nature is one of intense attunement to the emotions of others. Starfleet must be sure that you can do it, though." He took a sip of his coffee and leaned back in his chair. "Which is good enough for me." For now.
Glancing again at Luis, the smile returned to his face. "You and Lieutenant Diego may go." He hesitated, then shook his head. "I would hope that the Lieutenant would know when he reaches his own limits and won't need our counselor to come to bat for him in the future." Already the Assistant Science Chief had made the mistake of overworking himself and Sig hoped this wasn't a trend with other officers. It didn't impress anyone and could jeopardize the Talon in more ways than one. "Now, if I've made myself clear, dismissed." To add emphasis to his words, he began work on the PADD in front of him.
