“Alexander to bridge. Lower shields, the Bacohl are sending a shuttle for me to meet with their leader. And Commander. Assume Condition Green but obey General Order 17 if it is within your power and does not conflict with the Prime Directive.”
Kinin kept her expression neutral at the order. It would be an honorable death and she and her unborn son would take their place alongside Kahless while Dorian made his own journey there. Her eyes were filled with noble determination until Dorian placed his hand on her abdomen. Blinking once, she looked up at him, her expression softening. She placed a hand over his as he said the fateful words, then the corner of her mouth rose up in response. A verbal reply would not be appropriate in this first contact situation, but she knew he would understand the meaning of her expression.
Once Dorian, Choth, and Zakary were gone, Kinin took a breath, then moved to the center of the room. "Our 'guests' will need nourishment, water, and to be shown how to use the waste facilities. Ensign Anjohl, you have Brils." The one who seemed least likely to cause problems. "Lieutenant Jenison, Whull. Lieutenant Gavaskar, Thoy." Her head turned toward Haywood, "You are dismissed." The poor guy had been way overdue to end his shift.
"I can-" Haywood started, then stopped at her gaze. "Yes, ma'am."
"Ensign Diran, watch their backs."
Kinin moved to Haywood's vacated position at the control station and sat down, ready to raise and lower the shields when needed. All it would take was a simple nod from the others for her to do so and she would respond automatically. In the meantime, she also monitored the reports from the other security officers. Fortunately, the flow of reports had slowed to a trickle now that the ship was stabilized and all of the crew had been located and sent either to sickbay or their posts.

(ooc: you don't have to wait for Kinin to reply that she activated or deactivated the shields. Just assume she did so)
