Exercises in general were usually a lot of fun, depending on the individual but most of the time the person in question was just too focused to really express the joy of physical exertion. Robin had no such trouble this time around as he grinned ear to ear like a child as his body responded to the artificial gravity that was bringing him down fast towards the platform underneath him.
His feet landed, sinking into the material before propelling him up high. The air rushed through his hair, billowing against his vest as his body gained height, enhanced by the tucking of his legs up which he grasped with his arms. He leaned back, surrendering once more to the gravitational force that brought him spine-first down onto the trampoline.
He hit the top and allowed himself to bounce a few times before slowing to a halt and relaxing his cannonball position. He laid back as if it was a bed, his chest heaving slightly as his eyes looked up at the tall ceiling. He had reached the roof before, well not by trampoline but by rope. It was when he had raced Diran, he still felt somewhat guilty to the blisters that they both suffered considering that shortly after Diran was sent onto an away mission.
Robin sat up slowly, his ears listening to the quiet squeaks of the trampoline, the distant thuds and thumps from those running, punching or jumping. He looked around, there wasn’t many people and the place was spacious enough not to get into anyone’s circle when you were doing your own thing. He rubbed his sweating forehead with the back of his hand before running it through his hair out of habit. He then began to roll off the large platform, reaching the edge he hopped off and made his way back to the start of a ramp that lead to a tiny trampoline that people used to jump onto the bigger one.
He wasn’t all that surprised by the lack of people considering Talon was currently at Breas where the entire planet was essentially in danger. It was a guilty thought, he was here having fun but that was precisely why he was here. He didn’t need to be on the bridge and currently they didn’t need another person to help manage the shuttlebay but that wouldn’t stop him from checking in soon, just in case. Robin wanted to let his people know that he trusted them, especially those that were new to the ship.
That was why he was here, to forget about the current events where he wasn’t needed, not yet at least. Robin stared down the low blue ramp, imagining as if it was the cliff that he had jumped from when he was with Zi on Etimon. He almost scoffed at the thought, if she was here she would probably try to fault him on any aerial tricks he made. He was a pilot, not a gymnast and yet...
Robin crouched down in a traditional track starting position, Mark.... set... go!
He kicked off from his bent leg, launching himself into a mad dash which briefly made him thankful that the larger trampolines on the ship were pretty large although he had a much smaller target to work with first. He raced forward until he crossed a certain point, he jumped, spreading his arms out where he landed on the small trampoline, the material absorbing his momentum before springing up and sending him high and forward into air.
Towards the apex of his reach, he began a berani flip, a twist and flip maneuver which he began to break on purpose mid-way through as he transitioned into an aerial kick before slipping into a traditional swivel to help guarantee a safer bounce.
Had a man been standing where his kick would have likely connected, Robin was sure that both his leg and the man in question would have been broken. It was a powerful strike, any attack was with that kind of velocity. It was why those that practised martial arts sometimes favoured a spin kick to an ordinary one, it was technically slower but the allowed time created a stronger force in the kick and potentially making it deadly.
After the initial bounce on his butt, Robin quickly leaned forward and tucked up, allowing himself to be in a position where he could push off with both his hands and knees, giving him a window to put his feet where his knees were. He then proceeded to perform some small standard jumps before springing into a half-gymnast and half-martial art display of aerial movement.
