Grace felt the air explode from her lungs as his knee collided with her abdomen. And if there was anything left, the second blow surely knocked the rest of it from her. She felt her knees go weak and crash onto the mat. Her hands braced her fall, but she soon found that catching herself was a mistake. She felt a swift kick to the ribs, which knocked her over and onto her back. Grace did her best to take a deep breath. She wanted nothing more than to rest, but that didn't seem to be an option. As she glanced in the direction of her attacker, she only saw a foot starting to smash down. Instinct took over and she quickly rolled out of the way.
Grace was back up on her knees, and she stared across the distance at the Klingon. He was toying with her. Grace took a deep breath and then got to her feet again. He held out a hand and beckoned her to come forth. Grace's eyes narrowed and she did the same. He didn't seem to like that. The smirk that had been on his face morphed into a scowl which was followed by a growl. Grace wasn't sure how he managed to move so quickly. She moved by instinct, spinning her waist and lifting both of her arms to block the first blow. She smiled... she had blocked the blow! Of course, that was only one blow. She had completely forgotten about any other follow up.
She felt a swift punch to her abdomen once more. It was followed by a swift low kick to the back of her knee. She then felt him grab the ponytail her hair was pulled into. He raised his hand and she knew that the next blow was going to crush her face. "Computer! Freeze Program! Freeze Program!" There was a chime and the blur that was his fist stopped about half a foot from her face. An exhale of relief escaped Grace's lips.
She attempting to wiggle her hair free from her attacker's grasp, but it was useless. "Computer, remove sparring partner." The Klingon vanished and she felt herself fall back a bit, no longer being supported by him. As she caught herself a cough escaped her lips. She tried to pick herself back up, but certainly felt the sting in her abdomen. She pulled up the tiny tanktop and could see the red over her belly. She grimaced at the sight and let her shirt fall as she moved to the edge of the mat. Picking up a towel, she dabbed at the sweat and then took a drink from the water cannister.
Grace had made a decision. She wasn't going to be a victim anymore on an away team. That is, assuming Sig was planning on letting her go on another. She still couldn't recall exactly what had happened on Breas and in the shuttle... other than the fact that someone had gotten the best of her. Her eyes turned to the clock that was on the wall. It was synchronized with the ship's chronometer, which meant that she still had a little time before she needed to get ready to return to Sickbay.
She would have liked to have asked someone for a little help. Kinin was the first person to come to mind, but the last thing she wanted to do was disturb and annoy the Klingon. Still not having found Captain Alexander had to be quite the distraction for her. She also assumed she could have asked Etilen, but didn't want to be a burden. So, Grace had simply wondered onto the Holodeck and found an old training program. What she had learned was that trial by fire wasn't all it was cracked up to be. And at this rate, her ribs would likely end up the only thing that was cracked.
