Just about everyone on the Talon seemed to have a spring in their step, a bounce in their backend, and a smile on their face after visiting Peleb. Kealan was no exception. Though the encounter with the wapaw hadn't gone the way he had hoped, he was pleased nonetheless. Of course, he could have done without having gone face first into sticky mud in front of some of his crew, but it wasn't about to make him get all self conscious about it. Those kinds of things happened if you wanted to enjoy life.
They had made a very brief stop at SGE to pick up supplies, return the SGE crew who had come along to Peleb, and to drop off Lieutenant Hunter who had been requested by the CMO of the station. Knowing the circumstances, Kealan readily signed the temporary request for leave. Secretly, he hoped that Hunter's presence on SGE would keep his brother from bothering the ship for a while, at least until they could figure out where he went.
Shortly after leaving SGE, the Talon received an odd distress call. A small group of Bacohl, who had ventured out of their artificially created void in search of materials, had stumbled upon a ship that was mired in something they couldn't figure out. Once they determined that there were life signs on the ship, thus rendering it off-limits for salvage, the Talon was called. The Bacohl then retreated back to their void, not willing to risk discovery. It was taking them much longer to build their Construct, but the new rules had to be followed. No more taking advantage of occupied ships.
Kealan had already notified the Chiefs of the various departments to be at the ready, and the Talon was seconds away from arriving at the coordinates provided by the Bacohl. From what he was able to tell based on their report, the readings of the beings on the ship were odd, nothing like anything the Bacohl had encountered before. This intrigued Kealan and he was anxious to find out more.
Tapping his combadge, he made on additional call. "Monroe to Jaivyn, you are needed on the Bridge."
