"Does one of your things to do include investigating who took your ship?"
Head still down, looking at his console, he replied to Jon's question. "I know exactly who took my ship," he said. "What business is it of yours where my ship goes anyway?" He stood and walked over to the new Captain and spewed words in his direction. He was not in the mood for this today. While the station was undergoing a crisis, it was at an inopportune time. He had things he needed to do.
"Hello, Governor. I am Captain Raal, the commander of this starbase. And as per my orders, I'll be the 'Captain of the Day' as you put it... for the forseeable future. I suggest you get used to it."
It wasn't often that Tazer had to look up at anyone and he found he didn't like the feeling.
"You're right, Governor. Your obligation is to civilians of this station. And I mean to let you return to those obligations after you tell us what you know about the departure of your vessel, the Phoenix."
"Why is everyone concerned about my ship," he said. "Ships come and go all day from this station." Some guy's comm took Raal's attention away from Tazer and the Governor wandered back to his console, powered it up, and performed a few necessary tasks before he was interrupted again.
"Governor, I trust you can handle the evacuation of civilians to those areas?"
Straightening up, he turned toward Raal. "Are we segregating the populace," he asked. "Civilians, this way!" His arm arced in a faux directional swoop. "Oops, sorry, you're a Fleeter. I can't save you. If your guys encounter civilians, will they be left behind?" Stupid Starfleet. "I'll help evacuate everyone." He gave Raal a pointed expression. "And quit following my ship. That won't help anyone."
