"If wanted us to wait he would have told us,"
"Good point", Diran replied with a nod as he then looked to Alyssa for the all clear to do so. The only one among them with two pips, she was quite obviously in charge here, so whatever happened was her call. He of course could make his own decisions, but protocol demanded that he had to follow those with extra pips on their collar. They weren't just for decoration, after all!
Frowning as Zak chased after the command Lieutenant and the crewman who had attempted to leave the scene, he left him to question the pair as he turned his attention back to the task at hand. Alyssa had been able to acquire a tricorder from a crewman and had begun to scan the quarters from the outside. If she had found anything worth sharing, then Diran assumed she would have, so he instead stood outside of the quarters, phaser in hand as he waited for the green light. Figuratively, that is, as it would probably be some time before the flashing red disappeared.
With Zak's witness reports from the gathered crowds completed, Alyssa allowed them to leave with a reminder of their designated places during a red alert. He pretended he hadn't heard the mouthy Lieutenant, although he was far from impressed with his conduct during a crisis. It was the least of their worries now though, as everyone made their way to wherever they needed to go, leaving just the three of them. Nodding to acknowledge Alyssa's words and order, as he held up his phaser and took right as she had requested. Entering the quarters behind her, he was on full alert as he prepared to enter Lt. Kayden's quarters. Although Alyssa had finally disclosed that she hadn't picked up any anomalous readings, they still needed to be on full alert.
"Monroe to Ensign Stone. Lieutenant Kayden Rychel has just been reported on SGE after being deposited there by Mr. Darby. Lieutenant Star informs me that the initials K.L. are attached to an incident involving Darby in the past. Star will send you the details. Coordinate with the medics on SGE to determine the cause of her injuries. Monroe, out."
Overhearing the communication to Zak, it was apparent that the bridge crew had solved in mystery for them. Why the starbase and not the Talon's own sickbay, Diran had no idea, and just what kind of incident could be relevant to this situation in a sense that this Darby person would write out those particular initials?
