"This will work," Liz said stiffly, using B'ranon as a support to get down to the floor.
As he helped Liz down to the foor, B'ranon had asked what had happened to cause the malfunctions to the holodeck. It didn't take one of the ensigns long to reveal that another ship had collided with the Talon. "What?" B'ranon asked clearly surprised. A plethora of questions began to stem to B'ranon's lips, but he kept silent as he heard Liz's voice.
"If another ship hit us..."
He looked down at her as the medic continued working on her leg. Clearly, she had a number of scenarios running through her mind as well. B'ranon could only hope that casualties had been light. And then there was the damage to the ship itself. B'ranon was tempted to ask if the ensigns had any other details such as whom had collided with the Talon, whether it was a race they had previously encountered a first contact. Though, if they were simply assuming that a ship had hit the Talon, then perhaps they weren't privy to that information.
"All done," the medic said, standing up and reaching down with one hand to help Liz up. "Try to stay off of it as much as you can for the next couple of days, but it should be okay." She ignored his hand and stood up, testing her newly repaired ankle tentatively.
"Ensign, we're dead in the water and half our systems are about to go critical if my instincts are right," Liz said, glancing at him. "There's going to be very little I can do about staying on my feet."
B'ranon almost felt sorry for the medic. He began to move after Liz as she headed towards the exit. He was pretty sure that she wasn't going to accept any help if she could avoid it. And yet, she was right. With the Talon in the midst of a crisis, their full attention had to be on this situation. He quickened his pace and fell into step alongside Liz, certain that she was headed for the bridge.
