Sometimes she was scared of floating away without him, he was the anchor that held her down, when he wasn't around she was thinking of him. Being with him was like going home, and the idea of them becoming strangers was heartbreaking. Hearing those words though, three simple words that could mean more than anything in the world. She felt herself relax, the tension she didn't realise she had been carrying, the truth was love was about the changes you made, it was about the compromises you were willing to make to make someone else happy. It was much more than three small words, but those words had the power to inspire.
It was the way he tried to hide a smile, tried so hard to be serious but he wasn't. Sure other people thought so, if you saw him at work you'd have no idea what he was actually like...and Eilidh felt honoured to know him the way she did. Then again, it wasn't as if they had a traditional first meeting story was it?
A smirk tugged at her lips, she rolled her eyes and mocked a huff, “jeez your so high maintenance.” Wasn't that meant to be her job? Wasn't she meant to be the demanding one? Eilidh kinda liked the fact that there was nothing about them that was kinda normal, nothing about them that made sense. They'd done everything back to front and while every couple was convinced what they had was special and different from every other couple that had existed in the whole of history...Eilidh was sure they had nailed different better than anyone before them.
“Why don't we just move in together...” it was a big step, she kinda just suggested it off the cuff as it was asking if he wanted a drink. “I don't...I don't want us to be tiptoeing around because we're scared of what people might think, I mean technically we've been together since before you were my CO...loopholes and stuff.” Technically they weren't breaking any rules. Technically. “I'm just...getting tired of feeling like we have to keep this on the down low...why can't we be like everyone else for once?”
