Kinin's Quarters
Arriving at the appropriate deck and section, Diran quickly entered the security override code needed to access Kinin's quarters. He had the distinct feeling that the assistant chief would be less than amused to know that her quarters had been poked around, but orders were orders. Besides, he wasn't in this job to make people happy, but that train of thought was perhaps why he didn't have too many friends.
As the door responded and opened with a rather menacing hiss, Diran entered with tricorder in hand and Bennett hopefully close behind. He didn't expect to run into any trouble, seeing as both the computer and tricorder told him that they were alone here, but scans could be wrong and even falsified or bypassed all together. There was no such thing as being too careful, although it didn't pay to be paranoid. Other than that one time that had prevented a possible one way trip to Salor, but he was pretty sure that was a one off.
Either way, it seemed the room was pretty much as he expected, once he had issued the command to turn on the lights. Pretty much Starfleet standard with a things not normally found in such a place. There was certainly no mistaking that a Klingon occupied these quarters, the bat'leth hung on the wall being what humans would call a giveaway. In fact, a variety of Klingon weapons and paraphernalia adorned the walls and various surfaces of the main living area. This did nothing to ease the suspicions that Kinin had somehow become involved in the tensions of her own people, but then there was no proof that her people were even involved. In fact as far as he was aware, there had been no Klingon activity in this sector whatsoever within the allotted time period. Instead, the suspicion feel on the Romulans, but again they had no proof. With a little luck they hadn't been taken at all and had simply become lost or injured out of range of transporters. That would be somewhat of a relief to discover that they were indeed still on the planets surface, but Lady Luck didn't seem to care much for the Talon.
Turning to see if Bennett was still present, he moved further into the room, gazing upward to address the computer. Not that it made much difference where he faced, it was simply out of habit.
"Computer, who was the last person to access these quarters prior to our visit?" he asked, his own voice shortly followed by a whir and a chime of the ships computer responding.
"Lieutenant Robin Star", the monotonous voice answered, which caused the Zaldan to raise an eyebrow toward his colleague. What had he been doing here?
"Was Lieutenant Alexander here when Lieutenant Star visited?"
"Negative"
Even more puzzled, Diran then went on to ask for the exact times, only to learn that Robin's visit occured after Kinin had left for the surface and the 'message' had been circulated. Very curious indeed.
He then turned toward his companion.
"You heard what we have so far", he said before glancing around the room once more. "We need to take a good look around in as short a time as we can, so I suggest we split up", he then suggested as he eyed the various pieces of equipment that suggested Kinin didn't live here alone. There would be perhaps more baby things in the bedroom, but he was less keen to go poking around there. Still, needs must.
