It was the second time in as many weeks that Nevir woke up in Sickbay. The first was just after the Kestrel arrived. And to be perfectly frank, the Bajoran hated the fact that he was here again. The damage that Tek had done to himself was more severe than anything anyone else had done to anyone else, and the crude means of surgery that was done on him kept him alive, but caused his condition to worsen over time. That would explain why once the adrenaline had run out on the ship, Tek himself finally collapsed. It was lucky he was already in the back.
The only noise he heard was the low hum of the warp engines, and the movement of feet in the same room, and the only thing he saw as he opened his eyes was the bright glow of the overhead light. He moved his nose to clear away the stale smell of sickbay and then tried to arc his head up, to see if he could find someone.. anyone really.
Despite the fact that they were docked at the moon-base thingy, Tek flat out refused to go down to the base. One, because of the Cardassian presence, and two, because the Bajoran just didn't feel comfortable leaving the ship right now. He still had nightmares. In fact, he had just woken up from one as he had laid in the biobed. Another one where he was back in that god-forsaken cage. Another where he watched his crew disappear one by one as his own insides ruptured and dropped onto the cold floor. Nevir visibly shuddered just thinking about it, and he gave a bit of a cough to clear the imagined taste from his mouth.
He wanted to say something.. anything... but what could he say? The medical officers were kind, but they were also professionals. They won't let a man go on just his word alone. Still.. he had to try.
"Doctor? How long am I here today?"
