Lieutenant Loch leaned back in his chair as he stared at the screen. He had been on hold with the parcel master for nearly half an hour, and it seemed that even now the result was still the same. He stared at the empty box that had arrived this morning. Of course, it wasn't supposed to have been empty. The box was supposed to contain something rather significant to B'ranon. Though, it shouldn't be a surprise that something would come up missing after arriving at this particular outpost.
//"I'm sorry Lieutenant Loch, but there's no sign of your...."//
"Engagement band," B'ranon finished. He sighed and nodded. "Very well. Thank you."
//"If you would like to officially file a claim, I'm sure our insurance carrier can--"
B'ranon waved off the notion. "No, that's not necessary," B'ranon said. "It was from another time." His hand reached to close the communique before any further questions could be asked. The band had been a family heirloom, but as B'ranon said, it was from another time. He'd come to terms with the way his life was now. He certainly wasn't the same person he'd been before.
"Computer, where is Lieutenant Jenison?" he spoke into the air.
//"Lieutenant Jenison is not aboard the Talon."//
B'ranon smile and nodded. "Of course she isn't," he said. "Thank you." There was a chime from the computer as he leaned back in his chair. He had been hoping to further check in with her, but being the current ranking Security officer aboard the ship, she seemed to always be busy. He supposed that was to be expected for the time being. Besides, there were some other members of the Kestral team that he was a bit more concerned about.
B'ranon turned his attentions back to his calendar. He didn't have anything else scheduled for the rest of the afternoon. Clearly, people had decided to take advantage of the shore leave opportunity. A wise decision in his opinion, since the Talon would be underway eventually. Leaning back in his chair, he began to review the list of recent additions of holo-programs. Perhaps he could take advantage of some of the downtime as well.
Sifting through, he tried to figure out what he was in the mood for. There were some historical Earth programs though he wasn't in the mood for either of those. His eyes came across a baseball program as well. And then he saw it... surfing, on the beaches of Risa. Perhaps it was worth a try. Though, it seemed that it would have to wait as he heard a chime at his door. Pressing a button, he closed the menu and looked towards the door. "Come in," he called out.
