Barely paying any mind to the conversation between his new boss and the pair he had seemingly decided to treat as VIPs, Kell continued serving customers both at the bar and by waiting their tables. He still wasn't sure exactly how this establishment was supposed to be run, or indeed if he was even working in the capacity that had been meant for him, but he supposed he would soon find out. They would need to go over his new contract at some point.
Overhearing that the girl who had joined them was a Starfleet officer, he couldn't help but wonder just how she had gained the position. She seemed far too meek to be military person, after all wasn't that what Starfleet was? A military organisation vying for control of the galaxy while preaching about peace? At least they weren't completely malevolent, although to be honest he may be putting too much stock in rumours. He would love to ask someone like that girl just what Starfleet actually was, as well as the so called Federation they served, but now was neither the time nor place. Maybe now that he was living on one of their stations he would have plenty of opportunity in the not so distant future? For now though, he continued to pour himself into his work that was hopefully not temporary. After all, if he didn't like the contract he didn't have to sign it. He'd be a bit stuck for cash if he didn't though.
Clearing a table close to the door, the young Starfleet woman made her exit, and he flashed her a smile.
"Thank you, call again", he politely bade her farewell as she passed him, before returning to his work.
End Kell
