It had taken him a while to get down to the planet. The life of a Captain was not usually one of leisure and there were more than a few loose ends Kealan had to tie up before taking advantage of Phillips' order. Grabbing the first swim trunks he saw at the local boutique, Kealan stalked the streets of Risa's capital city as he tried to figure out the right place for his own recreation. A quick stop at an informational kiosk had lead him to where he was now.
Clad only in the trunks, Kealan was lounging on a floatation bed, bobbing up and down with the small waves that happened as others entered the water from the various slides that encircled the large body of water. There was room for others, and he had already entertained several visitors to Risa. Now, though, he was alone. He closed his eyes, his hand on a cold drink, as he tried to relax.
Since he had taken possession of the new Talon, there had been nothing but trouble. Some were already calling the new ship cursed, and Kealan was beginning to believe them. Not only had they fought off attacks to the ship, his own crew were becoming problematic. Phillips seemed to think that a short leave on Risa would solve everything, but Kealan knew it was just wishful thinking. Phillips wasn't a fool, though, so the Captain hoped the Admiral knew something he didn't.
The Admiral was not high on Kealan's list of favorite people at the moment. Having had his position temporarily removed during the recent investigation, plus knowing something was going on with their Etimonian guest that Phillips wouldn't reveal, Kealan was about ready to just walk away, especially after a Cardassian complaint involving Tahp and a murder on one of their ships was taken out of his hands and 'handled' by Phillips. There were too many unknowns for the comfort of the Captain.
A warm breeze blew across his bare chest and Kealan tried once again to just let his mind relax. How nice would it be to just stay on Risa for the rest of his life? Kealan swallowed and frowned. He was already far removed from what he desired. How would even more lightyears help?
