//"Loch to Bridge. Can you tell me who initiated this Blue Alert?"//
Robin almost groaned out-loud, he was already in the middle of a three-person communication, he didn't need a fourth voice! He gestured to one of the bridge officers to handle that call instead so Robin could focus on the priority discussion.
"Lieutenant Star initiated the blue alert, authorised by Commander Jenison." The comm officer said to Loch.
//"Commander Larson, see to it that they get those suits. Assemble a medical team and mobilize them ASAP."//
It was another moment that Robin allowed himself to savour a second of relief in hearing those words. What came next was less relaxing and more bemusing.
//"At your service, Lieutenant,"//
It felt surreal, for a number of a reasons but before Robin could begin suggestions of Tyne's crew assignments, an obnoxious voice dominated the conversation. Robin frowned, he and Alyssa shared a look that said it all before Tyne was able to continue without his rude guest.
//"Lt. Star, assign several officers as needed to receiving and recording crew locations and the spread of this disease..."//
"Yes sir," Robin said in acknowledgement, feeling a chill as Alyssa reminded them of being potentially compromised if they didn't hear from her later. Alyssa ended the channel, the image of Tyne now taking up the entire viewscreen.
Shortly after, Alyssa made her ship-wide announcement, he was impressed by her ability to say exactly what was needed for the crew at this time. He wondered if he were to make a ship-wide announcement, would the crew feel as comforted to hear his voice? To be fair, he didn't know if they were comforted by Alyssa instead of an expected voice like Kealan but still, probably better her than him.
Robin took a deep breath as all the main talking came to a halt, now was the time to do.
"One moment, sir." Robin said, holding up a hand to Tyne before moving to overlook the Operation's officer and exchanging some brief words and confirmations. He also issued several of the bridge officers not immediately involved in current science, medical or communications to monitor the crew locations and reports per Alyssa's orders.
When he was ready, Robin straightened up, pulling at his uniform before looking back at Tyne.
"Cargo hold is confirmed to be uncontaminated so you're free to transport the suits. Secondary sickbay is as well. I suggest sending your medical teams there first, in EVA suits just in case. They can use that as a secure pseudo-base and lab which we can link with our teams." Robin said to Tyne, rapidly rewinding the words back in his head to think if there anything important he might have forgotten.
"It might be worth your teams taking detailed scans of DS10 beforehand, as an environmental comparison in case it really is airborne." He added, though based on everything it didn't seem to be airborne but they had precautions for a reason. The comparison could also prove useful to any scientists working on the case here on the Talon.
