As Robin rode the turbolift up towards the bridge, his mind was a whirl of thoughts as he attempted to understand the current situation. The main thing was that there had been numerous reports and witnesses of 'strange behaviour' and several command officers were indisposed or unable to perform their duties?
What was especially weird was that he hadn't noticed any odd behaviour, unless you counted a woman pulling a man into a room with intimate intentions he had seen on his way to the bridge.
Once the lift halted, Robin stepped out but stopped when suddenly every face on the bridge snapped their heads at him. It was like disturbing a herd of animals that looked more than a little suspicious of his intentions.
"Report...?" Robin ordered before being overwhelmed by the events that had taken place.
"And she was naked?" Robin questioned as an officer re-accounted that particular moment before continuing.
"She was taken away by Ensign Saddle, he hasn't returned..." The officer trailed off, mentioning some weird science officer who had barged into the ready room but then they mentioned Kinin.
Robin was staring hard at the officer now, causing him to stop and fluster for a moment.
"Continue." The pilot urged the officer, who quickly heeded the order. Apparently Kinin had escorted the science woman away and considering that the other escortee had gone unresponsive...
Robin took in a deep breath, the urge to track down and find Kinin was almost too much. If the bridge crew's hypothesis was to be believed, then there was some kind of libido related contagion on board? If so there was a chance that if Kinin were affected, it would affect him... and then he wouldn't be helping anyone at that point.
"What else?" Robin asked as he paced in front of the Captain's chair. Until Alyssa arrived, he was the highest ranking bridge officer. There had been no response from Commander Braddock.
"Priority one distress call from the Nightingale..." Robin almost flailed on the spot, they were mentioning this now? Not to mention the fact that he hadn't heard of the away mission, mostly because it had only been launched not too long ago.
"DS10 has just been informed of the Talon situation and we've re-transmitted the call to them. Commander Jenison had requested to speak to Captain Tyne."
Robin looked over his shoulder towards the turbolift, when would Alyssa arrive? What if she was somehow afflicted on the way? What if she never came?
"I want to hear the distress call." Robin ordered before facing the viewscreen despite it being only an audio transmission. Soon Vargas's voice crackled through the air, lightly distorted but clear enough.
"This is Lt. Commander Vargas. We have reached our destination and found the station in disarray. Already a member of my team has been attacked and injured. The station is also under Blue Alert because of a possible unknown contagion. We request immediate assistance. Vargas out."
Robin felt a shiver run down his spine as the communique ended. He mentally cursed, the situation was far more urgent than he had realised! He wanted to them to depart immediately but the presence of their strange acting crew made things complicated. What was more was that the station might have suffered a similar but alternative fate?
Every minute they waited, another one of the away team could be injured, or worse.
"If Commander Jenison isn't on the bridge within the next five minutes, hail the station." Robin ordered.
If Alyssa couldn't, then he would have to speak to Tyne. Robin had his own ideas but he wasn't a complete fool to disregard the advice and far more qualified command that Tyne could offer him. It also helped that he knew of the man and his deserved abilities considering he had been a previous Talon XO.
