"Yes! Not a bad guess, Roman. Gideon's my little baby brother and he's always gonna be.
As she stretched, he leaned in closer. Gideon's flower was on its side, a puzzle to him, as it intentionally singled out the young boy.
"But he's getting pretty grown. Is grown. Easy to forget the things you miss until they're right in your face- not that I'm particularly tickled with Lily bringing him on board. Felt like shit, actually."
"I wish I had been there," he said. It was an odd thing to say, considering the circumstances. "I'd much rather face a foe that has form than some sort of crystal mind-bending-Tegan-angering thing," he admitted. "Is he okay?"
"He's...sensitive, but he'll be alright I think. Luke's pretty calm and even tempered."
"Gideon, Luke, Micah..." He frowned. "The other is-?" He couldn't remember her ever mentioning the other. Poking at the smallest flower, he deepened the furrow between his eyes. "Why is his sideways, anyway?"
He suddenly realized he was poking around in an area that was pretty close to being off-limits and he stepped away, letting his foot pick through a pile of debris. "Huh," he said, looking down at what he had uncovered. "That's interesting." Kneeling down, he removed a hand mirror; it was unbroken and incredibly ornate and colorful. Turning it over in his hand, he rolled his eyes and tossed it to her. As ornate as the front was, the back was over the top with crystals and all sorts of girly things. "Who would bring that to a beach?!" As he pawed through the pile further, he looked over his shoulder. "Go on, I'm listening."
