"Would the manual seals let air in without letting whatever's out there in?"
From her supine position on the ground, the Catian pondered for a moment, trying to remember the schematics for standard Starfleet short range vessels. She caught herself with a bit of a purr for a moment, but then remembered something she read.
"Ideally, if we had a little power, we could activate the venting system. But... I think there has to be a manual release, some sort of mag-lock for emergencies."
"Let's not do that,"
S'rah sighed. "Not to worry, the mag locks are hard enough to find with full power; unless Mr. Tekison happens to know where those are too, its not really an viable option." she said, leaning back against the panel on the floor. She causally asked Keith about the tricorder, and was rewarded with a response from Tavin.
"Good idea,"
"Fantastic idea,"
If she were honest with herself, she was starting to like this Ops cadet. Open mind, kind-hearted, he was at least a sweet guy. And Hudson... it was good to still have one person who she knew from the Academy, and who she could get along with. However, she had to focus until their situation improved.
"There are two species on Peleg, the Shydrans, who are not native, and the Pelegians. The Shydrans use Peleg as their home base when they're not away entertaining."
"I would prefer them, then. Friendly?" she asked and answered meekly.
"They're harmless. I don't know anything about the Pelegians, though."
"Okay, definitely not them, in that case. Keith, can it identify the species?" she asked, more than a bit hopeful.
“I’m reading two humanoids. No energy weapons that the tricorder can detect. But one of them is carrying a large stick, which could be a potential weapon.”
It was just then that the door began to glow, almost like it was being heated, as it was only a section of it. The Catain pushed herself back, as Hudson called out for them to stand back, and then asked Tekison where he was. She finally saw him as the door suddenly opened, bathing the inside with light, and the Bajoran was holding weapons. Well... looks like he found them alright. Great... now they were a threat.
A drone moved into the shuttle, scanning them, including herself to her horror. It asked a simple question, to identify themselves. She glanced to Tekison, expect him to speak up, and when he didn't, she turned to Hudson. She seemed to have a good head on her shoulders; the Catian would rather defer to her. She was no leader, she was only ever planning to be an engineer.
