"Well... yes, ma'am,"
"Excellent. It's often best to have both feet in the same place," at least in Coardi's experience in most things, though less to do with romance and more to do with life in general.
The chime went off, the echoes bouncing from the walls loudly but peacefully, and the people began to migrate out of the waters as if it had some strange power over them.
"Where is everyone going?"
"To the next part I suppose," Coardi replied, her voice reflecting her slight distraction as her eyes watched the bodies lift from the pool ruining the peaceful surface of the water as it was bombarded with ribbons and droplets falling from soft, clean flesh.
Watching the man get swallowed by fire was more distracting still, the Bajoran woman giving an "oh my" quietly to herself.
"So much for towels,"
"What about our hair?" She very well couldn't go back to work looking like Hrax, regardless of how much she had enjoyed his shaved head the other day.
"So, we've discussed my potential love connection. Am I supposed to accept that the only thing you've done is settled for dreamy googly eyes from afar on our fair captain?"
"I don't think we can say that we've discussed it," Coardi countered as her hand reached toward the pool's edge, "You haven't even given me his name."
There was a moment of hesitation. Did she want to get out? There were so many people and her carefree attitude was threatening to abandon her.
"As for my eyes," with minimal effort she lifted herself from the pool, skin tightening at the shocking difference between the water's temperature and the coolness of the air, "they do not google at Captain Monroe. No offense to our dear captain but it wouldn't do well for us to mingle in such a way, I think it might be too strange to work under a man all day then carry on normally after hours- which do not exist for captains, and the worst risk is behaving like lovers when you shouldn't be."
Slowly but surely the fire exploded then quieted, the line shrinking person by person.
"I think maybe Captain Monroe may need a partner. He's got the most difficult job of us all. I've been told captains can either be the best or the worst lovers depending if they're all in or all out." Coardi inched a step to the side. "Not that I've ever experienced that," her cheeks reddened at the thought. She'd never be as unprofessional as that!
