"I'm not really sure. I guess it really depends on just how important that conversation was, and whether there is a time limit to the answer you need. If just a day or two, then yes, hunt him down, but if longer or no time limit, let him enjoy himself and find him on the ship when we get back."
"Sensible and pragmatic," Coardi declared. Suppose there really wasn't a set time limit but being first tended to be more advantageous than being last. Maybe it was best to consult the boss before tracking down that beautiful blue man.
They moved on before Athena could think to ask any further questions.
"I wasn't really planning on anything fun. Last night I just went for a long run on the beach alone, training. And today... well I was just..."
Coardi grinned. Training, training, training. Surely there was something else in Athena's life beside cardio and weapon's practice.
"I don't know.... I don't really know what I was going to do. I would have preferred to be back on the ship. Working. I don't suppose they have a shooting range around here, do they?"
The Bajoran's great posture melted under the weight of her giggle, her hand covering her blue mouth politely. "Oh, goodness no." Of course, Athena was no doubt absolutely serious and the woman straightened herself out. "You did read about Peleb before the ship arrived or attend one of the briefings? They haven't got a single holodeck, at least, not for the use of the common people. From my diplomatic experience a request to permit a foreign, off-duty officer the condition of being furnished with a deadly weapon would be quickly denied. We represent the United Federation of Planets. It's Peleb's alliance with Etimon that allows us to be here at all so you might consider a less," Coardi opened her hands as if praying to the Prophets to drop the right word into her palms, "destructive method of relaxation? Pelebians are a natural, peace-loving people." It was tempting to put humans in a box labeled 'violent' but she knew very well how her own people had embraced violence, even after the Occupation. If she didn't want to be judged by the action of other Bajorans then Athena would surely appreciate the same treatment.
"You like running, correct? Maybe you can go zip-lining? There are cliffs that could provide a variety of levels of physicality. Have you heard of the human practice of Yoga? I hadn't before until I went to Starfleet Basic Training, of course, but it an excellent method of conditioning the body in a very calm, peaceful way. Maybe trying it in one of the nature centers, or on the beach, will allow you to embrace a different culture while in the comfort of something familiar."
Somehow everything that came out of her mouth sounded a little judgmental.
"It's just a thought. I'll admit to avoiding places that encourage sexual intercourse with strangers." She'd had enough of that on the ship as it was thanks to the virus.
Coardi gave a reassuring smile.
