Micah is a friendly person, but is troubled with his past. He tends to be irritable when things do not go as planned and is sometimes considered to be a micro-manager. He is very organized and when things are out of place, his irritability can really show. When he is alone, he tends to meditate to calm his inner spirit, which is often aggressive and bold. When in a group, he is often quiet and reserved, and tends to only speak when he has something to contribute. When he gets to know the group, he tends to bring his guard down and open up a little, though not much.
Background and History:
Born to a small farming family in 2383, Micah's early childhood was riddled with chores. As he grew up, he found that there was little room for mistakes and when mistakes were made, he was severely punished by his father. From an early age, his older brother, Jeremy, taught him to use weapons, starting with a few antique 20th century rifles and ending with modern phasers and compression rifles. He learned to become an expert marksman, preferring precision shooting, over running into anything guns a-blazing, which was much different than his brother. The two made an excellent team when they held contests with neighboring kids from the rural Omaha area. Micah grew up to be an honest teenager and tried his best to do what was right.
In 2397, just after Micah had turned 14, his father and brother got into a fist fight, after Jeremy had defended their mother from being beaten severely by their father. When Micah tried to help Jeremy, who was soon getting over powered by their father, their father grabbed a rifle and threatened to kill them all if Jeremy and Micah didn't leave the house. It was utter chaos that ensued. Jeremy attacked their father and dodged the blast the rifle. It whizzed past Jeremy, hitting their mother in the chest. She died instantly. Their father dropped the gun and called the authorities, outwardly threatening to frame them for their mother's accidental murder. Jeremy grabbed Micah and they ran away.
Shortly thereafter, Jeremy secured a job for them on an off-world mining facility. Micah looked older than he truly was, and could be passed off as Jeremy's "twin" brother. There, they would work as miners, security personnel, and sometimes even cargo shippers. This led to Micah's first experiences on starships. He loved traveling in space. It gave him such a sense of adventure that he would never lose. After three years, he and Jeremy traveled the Alpha Quadrant and learned many new things. In 2400, they returned to Earth, after hearing of their father's death in a bar brawl. After taking over the dying farm, Jeremy and Micah worked day and even night to try and repair the damage that had been done. After two years of toil, they finally brought the farm back to its former standing. It thrived once again, but devastation once again took to Micah when, in 2402, the power coupling on one of the harvest machines exploded, killing Jeremy. Micah was 19 when he lost Jeremy, and would never be the same again.
Some extended family came to take over the farm, since Micah had no will to continue working on it. He decided, in Jeremy's honor, to follow one of the dreams Jeremy had for him, to attend Starfleet academy and join among Starfleet's ranks. His four years at the academy, starting in 2403, were grueling for him. He toyed with the sciences and engineering, but neither seemed to work for him. He opted to become a security officer, with extra pilot training to supplement what he had learned as a teenager. His skills as a marksman were unmatched by nearly everyone in his class, but he struggled in hand to hand combat, as it remined him of the day his mother died. One night, in a dream, he saw his brother writing something in a letter to him. Jeremy disappeared, but Micah was able to read the letter. It told him that it was time for him to grow to his full potential and that he must master all aspects of his life. Micah took the advice to heart and learned to become a good close combat fighter. He learned several forms of martial arts, or rather combinations of them all, and in close combat weapons training, he preferred to use two twelve inch blades which he would learn to later strap to his back in case the going got tough.
In 2407, Micah graduated Starfleet Academy and was assigned to a small security force on a science vessel. He served on board the vessel for a year. Some of his notable actions were disabling an old computerized security system that had been adapted to use holograms as security personnel. He took a phaser blast to the back, but was not permanently harmed. He later would get some computer training to avoid similar circumstances, though he reluctantly did so. In 2408, after the science vessel was decommissioned, he was transferred to a much newer vessel, and one that he was sure to bring new adventures.

Setting: On the surface of Motar III, Micah and the security team were sent to rescue the science away team that had been trapped by some sort of computerized security system. There were several injuries to the away team.
The four man security force quietly walked through the building. Lieutenant Rydell led the group in. Micah, Ensign Mario Sanchez, and Lieutenant JG Sarah Maxwell followed him in as he rounded the corner. The room before them was a vast cargo area. There were large boxes everywhere and Micah saw the enemy troops patrolling the area.
"Ok people listen up," Rydell whispered. "Sanchez, Jackson. I want you two to take the left flank. Follow the wall to that door and bust in. The away team is being held there. Sarah and I will take the right flank and meet you there. If you run into any trouble, shoot first and ask questions later."
Micah nodded and they set off. This maneuver was a by the book approach to a divide and conquer situation, and a great way to set one group out to be the diversion. Mario and Micah rounded a formation of large boxes to form their approach. They were spotted and cut off by the security personnel. The fire fight ensued. Mario and Micah separated a bit in order to gain an upper hand in the fight. Both were under heavy fire and seemed to be doing little damage.
"It's like we are firing right through them," Mario said.
Micah fired again and the phaser beam passed right through the enemy troop. "Umm... that's because we are shooting right through them." He couldn't figure out what was going on here. "What are these guys, ghosts?"
Mario looked around and then pointed to a small emitter near the ceiling. "Holograms!" Mario shouted. Micah had no clue what to do about this. "I'll bet if we shoot that emitter, we will take out these sentries." Mario stood up and fired severa shots. He missed each time.
"Come on, can't you hit that big target?" Micah teased.
Mario glared at him. "Since you seem to think you are so much better, a week's replicator rations says you can't hit it on your first shot."
Micah thought about it for a split second before saying, "Ok, watch this." He stood up and took aim, but before he fired, a blast hit him in the side. It came from the other side of the bay. Apparently the other team was having some fun too. "Lay down some fire for me, not that it will do anything." Mario fired again and again. Seeing an open opportunity, Micah stood up, took aim, and fired. The emitter exploded on the shot's impact. He looked at Mario, wincing a little from his small injury, and said, "I take my steaks medium rare."
