Second Character for Yaxley
Character's Name: Elizabeth Langley
Age: 59
Gender: Female
Race: Human, some betazoid blood but not enough to effect her mental capacities or appearance of her eyes
Physical Profile Beth has fair hair that is usually held up in a clip or braid of somekind as not to get in the way of her face or distract her during duty. Her eyes are a dull blue which are accented when she is enraged when her eyebrows sharpen. Her build is above average though not athletic as it is needed for her career path. She may seem feeble and soft but she is a fighter and wont allow anyone to help her in times of personal need. Her skin has wrinkled with age but has done so gracefully. She wears no make-up most of the time as she isn't vain. Though, she will still care for her appearance when dressed in formal robes.
Birthplace: Hemel Hempstead, England, Earth
Preferred rank: Lt. Commander
Department: Security Chief
Posting: DS9
Personality: Elizabeth is quite a caring person and often cares dearly for her friends often being used as a shoulder to cry on instead of the station's counselor. She is very maternal as she has two daughters of her own. Acquaintances don't usually see this side of her as she hides her true self behind a facade of a 'tough cookie'. She is hard when it comes to sympathy but once you get to know her she'll allow herself to laugh at a joke or even accept an invite to the mess hall.
Background and History: Elizabeth has always been a fighter. Her mother, Kathleen, would always find it difficult to get her to bed and her father, Jonathan, would be forced to bribe her with sweets to even think about getting her into the bath. She was a very bright young girl as well but due to her rebellous streak she didn't use her full potential in her work at school and often found herself bickering with the teachers. She eventually changed her ways and got a chance to go into Starfleet Academy. Her parents were delighted, especially her father (though he had no ties to starfleet himself, Kathleen had served as an operations officer aboard a small science vessel for a short while).
She found that tactics and diplomacy were her forte. She aimed to be a security chief of a vessel. Not just an officer; the chief. Eventually she found herself doing just that on the USS Wallace. She later married and had two children, Jennifer (Amanda Tapping) and Sarah (Alaina Huffman) with her husband Tim. He took her surname as did their children.
Tim and Elizabeth moved to a posting on the USS Rixx when they were attacked by an unknown species. Tim was killed when he was piloting a shuttle during the attack, this shook the family but also brought them closer. Elizabeth was later assigned to DS9 and now aims for her own captaincy.

Sample Roleplay: Boom. Another explosion. Consoles and bulkheads exploded all around them. They could barely move without getting struck with a piece of scrap metal or wiring or scorched by a burst of flames. The Rixx was in some deep trouble and many of the crew couldn't see themselves leaving anytime soon. The attack had happened so sudden and they barely had enough time to get their shields up - let alone attack back. Elizabeth Langley, chief tactical officer of the Rixx was in the Mess Hall when it occured. It didn't help matters that she wasn't at her post. The woman of fifty six ran quickly down the destroyed corridors; making swift course changes when an obtruction appeared. She found herself being thrown across the corridors when a torpedo would hit the already damaged hull. The woman began calling out once more.
"COMPUTER, ARE THE TRANSPORTERS OPERATIONAL?" the computer wouldn't even reply but she knew the answer. Getting transporters back on line wouldn't be the top priority on the chief engineers list but a site-to-site transport would be ever so useful. If she could just get to the bridge!
She spun another corner, finally finding herself at the turbolift. She aproached the doors which refused to open. She tapped away at the mini-console at it's side hoping to open it. It still refused. A melted claxon could be heard as the piercing sound of red alert even began to fail. "Come on!" she hit the console with her fist and the doors opened. She relished in her small triumpth and entered the lift. "Don't fail me now!" the doors closed and she began her ascent.
