Luca's eyes trailed around the small room as he stepped further inside. There was nothing remotely special about it. It looked more like a sterile hospital room than anything else. At least his roommate hadn't arrived yet. He couldn't imagine trying to explain why he brought a female into their room the first day. Luca continued in, dropping his heavy bags onto the floor and sighing as the pressure in his arm began to ease.
Rubbing his aching shoulders he turned to Taniya and frowned. "Could definitely use an interior designer," he said as he perused the tiny room. There wasn't much to see so he returned to his bedside, unzipping a bag and pulling out a change of clothes, the most random knickknacks and the photograph of his family. Giving the photo a longing look, he set it aside and continued digging into his luggage, more to give him something to do than to actually get organized. If it were up to him he'd live out of the bags.
He was nervous. His heart insisted on throbbing in his chest like horse hooves. Seeing Taniya after all these years was a bit daunting. He wondered what she thought about him. Did she hate him for not keeping in touch? Was she putting up with him now because he'd asked her to tag along? Luca took a seat, looked up at her and patted a spot next to him for her to sit. He shifted his things onto the floor to give her space. Pulling out one of his more casual shirts, he folded it and set it aside.
"There's so much I want to ask you," he mused as he added to the growing pile of clothing. For one why hadn't she tried to contact him either? They'd been so close in the academy. He didn't know exactly what had caused their friendship to shatter to unexpectedly. You broke up with her. But he hadn't. Not really. He just...stopped talking to her, did his own thing. The seperation had been mutual...right? He cut his eyes at Taniya before standing and walking over to his closet.
"What happened? Back at the academy I mean." He looked over his shoulder at her. "Weeks before graduation I never saw you..." And she never saw you. You were avoiding her. He turned back to the closet and slipped his things inside, biting the side of his bottom lip. He waited anxiously for her to answer.
