As Robert shuffled 'backwards' through the small tunnel, his leggings, arms and shirt suffering from the incredible tight space, he finally managed to poke his head out briefly. It was dark but Robert couldn't recognize any humanoid shapes, just rock and small formations on the ground. It was then he heard the voices, Ephiny's for sure but also another and another! At least two other people, male.
"He's coming."
Speak louder why don't you? Or maybe that was the idea.
Robert's hand dove into his pants and retrieved his Klingon distruptor and using his other hand to brace against the opening of the tunnel, pushed himself out of the hole, faster than he'd like. With the back of his head still facing the ground, his neck burned with the grazing sand burying into skin and down the back of his shirt.
Forcing his mouth clamped from the aching flesh, Robert pulled his feet away from the tunnel and stood up, aiming his weapon at the opening but saw very little. Not sure if they would be able to see him any better, he didn't take the risk and brought his back to the rocky wall and losing half the sight of the opening.
It was pretty much a stand-off, from his point of view anyway. Either they could charge in, lasers blazing or he could do so and 3 vs 1 were not the best of odds for such a scenario. Of course there were those Angosian rumours and even if they were true, he was only half that.
The seconds ticked by and Robert felt bored for the most part, sure his blood was pumping but his body was as still as a statue as he waited. Whoever was waiting for him seemed keen to wait just as much as he did. After a few more painful seconds, Robert slowly crouched, picked up a rock and threw it, the large pebble bounded right through into the opening and not before even touching a ground, two sudden blasts of energy ripped from their weapons and flashed the entire cave, leaving a sizzling rock on the floor.
They were twitchy... and they were accurate. What a great combination.
Robert's feet shifted slightly and he felt the weight of something, he looked down for a moment and saw in the dimness, a skull. Another skull, and other bones. Then he smiled. It was an insane idea. Reaching for a skull... very insane, it might even hurt Ephiny, possibly kill her. That was if it even 'worked'.
Taking a short breath, Robert threw the skull into the opening and began to move, as before a blast sounded as energy impacted against the skull but instead of vaporizing it, the energy broke it apart speeding pieces in all directions like shrapnel from a grenade. Robert charged for the opening, seeing something fly past him as saw a shape, aimed his distruptor, fired and continued running forwards and with the flash of his weapon saw a 2nd guy. He took aim and fired and scored a hit.
The flash illuminated the third guy but was pressed over Ephiny, a long fragment of bone sticking out of his head. "Friends of yours?" He asked as he crouched down, placing his distruptor on the ground in front of the bartender and helped the man off from her form, not noticing one of the other guys heads stirring.
