Lafiel couldn't honestly remember the last time she'd spent time in her quarters. Since Vulcans required less sleep than humans, both she and her husband were working as much as they possibly could. She crept quietly into their quarters, in case he was asleep, but found the other Vulcan was meditating in the living room. She tried to silently move past him so as not to bother him, but it was a pointless endeavor, as the telepathic bonds that had joined the two since their betrothal at 7 years of age alerted him to her presence. Still, it was the polite thing to do. She couldn't precisely come charging in while he was meditating.
T'var looked up, blinking a few times to adjust his eyes. "Lafiel," he greeted, nodding his head slightly at his wife in greeting. He walked over to her, his hand extended, and she matched her fingertips to his. They briefly shared the events of their respective days though the bond, before separating.
"You require rest?" Lafiel asked, sensing the dulling of his senses through their contact.
T'var nodded, "It has been 60 hours since I have last slept," he responded.
"It is illogical to push yourself further, despite the need to complete more work," Lafiel responded. She too knew the push to do more, to get the station up and running. But it would still be some time before everything was completed, and getting insufficient rest was only going to increase the margin of error.
"You are correct," T'var responded. He quickly blew out the candle that had been the focus of his meditation. "You are returning to work?"
Lafiel shook her head. "I require sustenance. Our replicator does not work yet," she explained. Personal replicators for low-ranked crew members were a very low priority in the grand scheme of things. "After that, I will rest." She paused a moment, studying her spouse's features. Though she did wish for more time with him, she knew that they would have to wait for that. "Be well," she said with a nod, before exiting their quarters.
