They had arrived not too long ago and it had taken a long while to get any sort of apartment to stay in but she had no quarrels with the facilities. She set down her sister's son from the perch he had at her side and placed the bag she carried in the other hand on the side before she moved to the window, letting him explore the space.
General Kunama knew that much had changed in her life and time would only tell if it was for the better. She had no real experience of being a mother to anything and knew Konak would present a lot of difficulties and hardships for them both in years to come. Her second has taken up his Generalcy and she approved of his Commander In Chief choice. She had enjoyed the few conversations she had had with Bess'ku, a Beyu, a tribe who were all rather on the short side. The pygmy race of the Nolfians at any given rate and Kunama knew they felt they always had something to prove. It was a bold choice of both the Lumaatan and the Beyun to choose such a life.
As with Nolfian tradition, Kunama had kept her rank of General but would also answer now to the title of Ambassador. She thought it over in her mind and nodded, Ambassador General Kunama did sound rather important and official. She heard the young pup giggle and laugh and she turned to see what he found so funny.
"Look at these funny basins, ma!,"
"I believe they call them sinks, Konak," she replied as she joined him seeing what it was that had him in fits of giggles. He had not changed much since he last saw Federation technology but he was taller and more gangly in nature as his juvenile years would begin to set in.
Kunama could already see the characteristic mane of hackles that covered his neck. Mane's were more inherent in the males of her species and they varied in further with each tribe. He had definitely inherited his from his father's impressive mane. She smiled and ruffled the fur on his skull before she moved to unpack their things. They had a good home back on the edges of their home colony and had brought a few things with them. They had come on a small vessel which was now sat in one of the shuttle bays.
"Can we explore the station Nama?" he asked joining her and she nodded once before finishing her task.
"Yes, I am ready, my sister's son,"
With his hand in hers, they left and explored the station wondering if they would see familiar faces in the crowd. She knew she would probably meet with the station's Captain and Administrator at some point in due course. Kunama was sure Konak would love to see Dakbar again... the Cardassian had an effect on the boy. She wondered too if M'Khol was around. Kunama was aware that Talon was currently docked with the Etimon and was aware that there was some to-do aboard.
Kunama was dressed in her military dress uniform which was perhaps on the romanesque side of things with the decorated breastplate and shoulders coupled with a light but tactile red cloak that finished at her hocks. Konak was in a similar fashion but his cloak was blue as red and purple were reserved for serving Nolfians and retired soldiers only.
End Kunama
