His attention was entirely focused on the PADD in his hands, fingertips beating a tune on his knee, as he surveyed whatever it was on the device's screen.
In one ear sat a small earbud type of wireless headphone, through which was playing a quiet song.
A terribly normal scene, one might think... Except for Darius' moderately adept singing, as he belted out 'Train' along with the song playing in his earbud, perhaps not noticing the slowly rising volume of his voice, distracted as he was; And caught up in the song.
"Now that she's back in the atmosphere,
With drops of Jupiter in her hair,
She listens like summer and walks like rain,
Reminds me that there's time to change, hey hey,"
Being drawn more and more into the terribly old song, his eyes half-closed, volume rising - Anyone in the hallway directly outside his quarters would hear his voice... A voice not quite equipped for such a high pitch as the singer could manage; Though, he did manage a fairly good rendition.
"Since her return of her stay on the moon,
She listens like spring, and she talks like June, hey hey,"
He rose to his feet, eyes still glued to the PADD,
"Tell me! Did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way,
To see the lights all faded?
That heaven is overrated?
Tell me! Did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar...
...And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?"
He moved and swayed with the music, his unlocked door allowing anyone interested to get a good view of the rather terribly distracted dancing Security officer.
