Character's Name: Yaxley
Age: Nearing his 108th birthday
Gender: Lorax (the first male gender)
Physical Profile: Being Rigelian, Yaxley is naturally taller than the average human. He stands at about 6"2 but weighs a mere 136lbs. Yaxley has rather oval eyes that aren't seen all to often as he narrows them most of the time. When his eyes are widenned you can see that the whites of his eyes have a slightly dull tone, due to his heritage, making them seem almost grey. Due to some strange gene in the Rigelian physiology, Yaxley has no iris in his eyes. His pupils therfore stretch over where his iris should be, thus making his eyes appear black much like a Betazoid (though there is no relation). There is a layer of cells that cover the eye that absorbs the harmfull effects of light.
Though it isn't known to many, Rigelians have the capability of only two hair colours (unless dyed). From birth a Rigelian has grey hair that grows rapidly until the age of ten where it turns a deep black. This is due to a time where a Rigelian develops further. This last all the way up to the age of twenty where their hair will revery back to it's original colour. Currently, his hair is long, flowing and reaches just past his waist. It appears grey though in certain lights it has a white sheen. Though, for all intents and purposes, it's grey. Yaxley ties his hair back out of the way of his face with tribal beads and string that Rigelians have worn for generations. The more beads that are worn - the more important or wealthy they are. This may be for vanity reasons or for recognition in social settings. He is of working class at best and therefore has two strands of beads.
Yaxley wears standard starfleet uniform and a large white labcoat. He of course wears the comm badge. This man is well taught and knowledgable and this is reflected in his appearance. His form is tall and kept upright at all times. Though he hasn't attended finishing school, Yaxley has brilliant values and believes that everything should be traditional and proper. His back is always straight and his voice always professional with an underlining tone of sterness. Yaxley has the biology of every other Rigelian. His skin is light green with some green pigmentation in some areas due to a high concentration of copper in his blood. On his face are yellow stripes which are painted on at birth with a compound that is absorbed by the skin and remains there permanentely.
Rigelians do not have eyebrows so it is sometimes confusing to see which emotion he is displaying. He has dark marks that run from his forehead through his eye and down to the mouth. Yaxley has a large nose which is accented by an area just above his nose that is elevated in a diamond like shape. This is common in Rigelian Loraxi.
Birthplace: Rigel V
Preferred rank: Lieutenant Commander
Department: Assistant Chief Medical Officer
Awards and Honors
Personality: Concentrated. Confident. Wise. Calm. All of them are words that describe Yaxley perfectly. He seems to portray a small mixture of carefully collected intellect and artfully disguised sarcasm, all wrapped up in a perfectly made package. He is an excellent leader but finds his forte in advising when needed under extreme pressure or in general conversation. Yaxley is a romantic when he gets round to romance but he doesn't seek it out. He believes he will marry some day but doubts it will happen anytime soon. He is only 108 after all. He has decades ahead of him.
He is a critic and a perfectionist, often pushing others into tasks that they cannot do, as he assumes they are able to work as quickly and efficiently as he does. Efficient and punctual, he doesn't take procrastination or laziness lightly and will often go out of his way to prove those who have done wrong the right way. He is usually completely neutral faced and does not smile or get angry easily. He will refer to the spirits and worship them which is rather different from the Vulcan way of doing things.
Background and History: The Rigelian race origined on the planet Vulcan of all places. When the planet turned into turmoil; one man rose above the fighting and declared that logic and peace would solve all the problems on the world. Many different people didn't agree with Surak's philosophy and seperated into different groups who eventually moved away from the planet to found their own community. One such group of people believed that the fighting was caused by the anger of gods and spirits on the world. They were extremely superstitous folk. They believed that migrating as far away as possible from Vulcan was the best solution. They found themselves in the Rigel System. The system's Rigel IV, was already inhabited by a sentient group of turtles known as the 'Rigellians'. The group of Vulcans decided to make home on the Class M Planet Rigel V. There; their physiology changed quite quickly. They skin became more green in pigmentation and other difference came to pass. Due to the confusion of the two species, the Rigellians often referred to themselves as the Chelon.
The Rigelians of Rigel V were an extremely hospitable race of people. By the late 23 century, they had inhabited a few more of the planets in the Rigel system. The Rigelians had evolved so much that you wouldn't even be able to guess that they were related to the Vulcans. The only way would be to look at their insides as they have almost identical inner physiologies. So much that transporters and scanners can often mistake them for Vulcans. Rigelians had also developed their own way of dealing with emotions; they either fought or made love.
Yaxley was born and raised by all five of his parents in the Truth Clan on Rigel V. He grew close to his parents and had a great affection for them all. At birth, Yaxley had yellow stripes painted onto his face as a symbol of their culture and service to the spirits. This was a sort of baptism in the Rigelian race. During his early childhood, Yaxley wondered off into the streets and was nearly kidnapped by a group of thieves who planned to sell him onto a wealthy family. They were stopped when Yaxley's first and third father fought them off; breaking one of their noses in the process.
Yaxley recieved his beads at the age of ten when he was going through a transition much like puberty. It lasted all the way untill he was twenty. By this time, Yaxley was fully devoted to the Rigelian culture. He worked at his neighbours lodge on Rigel II as a waiter. He saw many people come and go whilst he worked. One such day he met a group of Starfleet Officers. Among them was a Vulcan female who told him of the Rigelian origin. The place she spoke of was what the Rigelians called the "Forgotten Lands". This place was corrupt and bad children would get sent their if they weren't careful. Yaxley however didn't believe in such stories. By the time he reached the age of thirty-two, he became the first Rigelian to visit Vulcan since the separation. The Vulcans looked down on him because of his superstitons. Regardless, he decided to live there for a period of time. He learned of the Vulcan way of logic and control. It was different but Yaxley gave it a go.
After six years, he decided to join Starfleet. He was the first case to as most Rigelians found that adventure was asking for the spirits to anger. They enjoyed moving from planet to planet slowly and living in a paradise of relaxation. Yaxley had other ideas, he wanted to explore the universe. He decided to follow the path of Medical and Science as that was the forte of many Rigelians.
When Yaxley left the Academy, his first assignment was aboard the USS Grissom. There he experienced his first romantic encounter. He slowly moved up the ranks due to the fact he wasn't an ambitious man. He has served aboard 6 starships, 2 spacestation and at one point he taught at Starfleet Academy. He now has been assigned to the Peregrin.

Sample Roleplay: The arguement had blown into a full blown confrontation. It was rather ridiculous. Two of the senior officers in the sciences division, no doubt, were at eachother's necks, almost literally. They hadn't even noticed Yaxley walk into the room and he had been standing there for a good few minutes wondering whether they would finish their silly disagreement and allow him to continue with his work. He had been sent to the department when someone had caused an explosion that had destroyed two consoles and one other partially. He thought it logical not to interupt as he would get involved, most likely. The explosion had injured the two as they were working close to the consoles as they errupted into a full ploom of smoke.
As not to disturb them he had taken out his medical tricorder and began scanning the two from an unnecessary distance. The tricorder could hardly pick up any readings but it was better than moving closer. It would take a while but the job would be done. It bleeped happily almost as if it had a personality. The female had minor burns and the male; a small head injury. The two stopped and turned to the Rigelian man. He stared at them blankly.
"I was told there was an explosion." The two then began their arguement all over again as if to put the blame on the other. Yaxley didn't really have any interest.
