Character's Name: Christof Asanti
Age: 46
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Physical Profile 6'1, 201lb, dark hair, light blue eyes.
Birthplace: New Jersey, Earth
Preferred rank: Captain
Department: Command
Awards and Honors
Personality: Christof takes his job seriously, his expression seldom revealing his mood. Off duty, however, he is quick to smile and gets along well with the crew.
Background and History:
Christof trained initially as a civilian law enforcement officer until one of his buddies decided to apply to Starfleet Academy. A competitive person, Christof also applied at the age of 25 and the two of them were accepted. The structural aspect of the Academy and Starfleet was a good fit for him and he fell into the routine easily. Always a gear head, he naturally chose Engineering as his specialty, but he also did well in the chemical sciences. Having served in law enforcement, he found that he was good in diplomacy, which came in handy during his first posting after graduation. The USS Pioneer was sent on a mission of peace to a rather xenophobic planet. While working with their engineers on a structural problem with a reactor, he formed a quick bond with the workers, which led to a quicker than normal trust for the people of the planet. He served aboard the Pioneer for seventeen years, eventually taking the reins as Captain. The USS Peregrin is an exciting challenge for him, though he does have some trepidation after having been so comfortable for so long on one ship. However, that all changed when Starfleet decided to change things up and promote him to Commodore and combine the USS Peregrin's crew with those from the USS Zephyr onto a brand new Sovereign class ship, the USS Talon.

Sample Roleplay:
The goodbye party had started without him. Christof stood in his Ready Room, looking over all the memories he had acquired during his stay on the USS Pioneer. Every object in the room held a story. From a chunk of rock he saved during an almost-disastrous mission, to a hand-made quirky award given to him by the crew. He placed a hand on the latter, smiling as he remembered the day they had given him that item. He sighed softly as he turned and looked at the door to the room. How many people had walked through that door? How many tears were shed, careers promoted, lives saved from the room? Shaking his head slightly, he straightened his uniform and exited onto the Bridge. The silence of it was almost overwhelming. Docked at DS9, the Pioneer waited for its new Captain. He ran his fingers lovingly over the back of his chair. One armrest was in need of replacement, the leather almost worn away from where he liked to lean with his elbow. He stared at the back of the chair, knowing at one time it had contained a rather large blaster hole, a near miss, perhaps the closest he had come to death. His hand caressed the worn leather. "Time to say goodbye, old girl." He stepped onto the turbolift. Where he had placed his hand on the chair had already started to grow cold.
