First character for Crimea River (formerly, I played Galan). Character serves on the Peregrin.
Character's Name: Sr’limrai T’gar Sotak
Age: 67
Gender: Male
Race: Full-Blooded Vulcan
Physical Profile Sotak stands 5’11”, and is of average build. His eyes are a grayish-green colour, and his face is devoid of facial hair aside from his upswept eyebrows. His jet-black hair is cut short, and styled in typical Vulcan fashion.
Birthplace: Vulcan
Preferred rank: Lieutenant Commander
Department: Engineering - Chief Engineer
Personality:
Typical of Vulcans, he follows the teachings of Surak, and is detached from all emotion. His actions are dictated by logic, and rarely does his expression or voice tone change. Having served in Starfleet and with a variety of races he has no difficulty “fitting in” and is tolerant of all species even though he has fought in the Dominion War – something he regards as having done his duty. Sometimes those who do not understand the Vulcan mentality may take his indifference as rudeness or maybe arrogance; however, he is here to do his job, not to fraternise. As leader of the Engineering team, he expects those under him to perform to the best of their ability.
On- and off-duty, he is very professional and organised, and rarely does he partake in frivolous activity unless ordered to by a superior officer. One of the few recreational activities he “enjoys” are games of strategy and playing his lute in the mess hall. He follows all given orders but if it is illogical he is not afraid to state so without it being insubordination. In fact, he is not afraid at all – fear is an emotion, though it has been a proven fact that a small amount of fear – which he has allowed himself to retain – is beneficial and rational. He possesses an interest in temporal theories, but keeps this to himself, as fascination is an emotion.
Background and History:
Sotak, born on the planet of Vulcan in 2341, was the son of Keval and T’Vral, the former a scientist and the latter an architect. To this day they remain in these positions, and have two daughters in addition to Sotak. His childhood and education were typical of that of a young Vulcan. He learned to suppress emotion and the path of logic, in addition to the subjects he was taught. His natural aptitude for putting things together after they had been pulled apart was noted by his instructors; it was something that would stay with him for days to come. It was eventually suggested to him a career path in Engineering; since Starfleet was always needing more Engineers he decided to apply for the Academy in 2362, and after passing the exam and the prep classes, Sotak was accepted.
His first pon-farr occurred in 2363, something he returned to Vulcan briefly for, but no child was conceived. He graduated with a major in Engineering, and a minor in Operations and Science. He was stationed first at a starbase, where he worked on both Federation and alien ships, gaining additional knowledge of different systems in addition to those of the Federation. During the Dominion Wars he was assigned to a starship where he had his first taste of combat, luckily the starship survived the battles it was involved in – partially thanks to his repairs in Engineering. Later in his career he was assigned to another ship as Chief Engineer, which he served on, until 2408 when he was reassigned to the USS Peregrin as Chief Engineer.

(I know it's Voyager style; haven't had the chance of making a gray/yellow one).
Sample Roleplay:
Notes:
- If more detail is needed in the bio regarding his service, please let me know.
- His sample roleplay isn't anywhere specific, but if something else is needed, again please let me know. Thanks ^_^
- I added his full name to the bio's title, and to the name field. I'm unsure whether the full name is needed in the username or not needed in the title.
- I read the rules fully (for the third time, but you might have added stuff and I could use a refresher).
- I'll be gone Thursday-Saturday for holidays so if there's corrections needing to be made I'll do them when I get back (if you have responded with them).
- In case this is needed: attended Academy in 2362 at the age of 21. Graduated in 2366. Has served in Starfleet for 42 years.
- I stated the ship so there's no confusion.
- Should I add his rank to his biography's title?
- I look forward to RPing on Peregrin again!

Sample Roleplay:
With all the tension going on, on the ship, few save for the Engineers noticed the Vulcan Chief of Engineering, busily going about his work, socialising only when necessary so as not to be distracted from his work. It was to be expected; this ship was filled with emotional creatures. With his acute hearing he had heard of breakups, separations, love affairs – most of which he discounted as rumour. It hardly involved him, anyway; unless it started to impair people’s performance on the ship in which he would certainly bring this up with the captain. It was imperative they complete their mission.
He had been in the briefing when Summers had entered. He’d seen the Commander’s illogical reactions to his posting – which in itself, Sotak had found illogical, but he himself would have accepted any assignment he was given, regardless of the reason. And then there was this Bit fellow. He was a bit of an enigma. And the creature they had found in the Badlands. And of course the Cardassians, which some of the crew – especially Commander Hunt – held great animosity towards. Regardless of what a strong mask he had upon his emotions, Sotak had meditated longer than normal. He remained calm and serene, despite things, and went about his daily duties. The engines were running fine, but that didn’t mean there could be small problems, and daily, he would run diagnostics, and have his officers do this as well. Earlier, he had found and successfully resolved a minor error in the ship’s universal translator.
Usually he went to bed at odd hours, and woke at odd hours. He didn’t need as much sleep as a human, and his sleeping schedule usually revolved around when he was needed most. He rarely took off-hours for anything but rest, meditation, eating, and personal hygiene; he found recreation to be a distraction. But sometimes he would bring his lute to the mess hall and play it. Sometimes people would watch; he did not mind. If there was one thing he could say that he enjoyed, it was playing his lute. It was on this occasion that he brought his lute with him, intent upon playing it after he had some breakfast. He found the mess hall to be empty aside from the young CONN officer. Ordering his plomeek soup from the replicator, he made his way over to her. She appeared – though he wasn’t very adept at discerning alien emotion – lonely. Not that he could be of much assistance in that area, but he was capable of carrying out a conversation. “You are up late, Ensign,” he said stoically.
