Tiria carried several shopping bags as she walked into Quarks. Her liquid smile was lost on the proprietor though it was full of memories of some other visits to his establishment. He wasn’t the same one that had been here the last time she’d visited this station. So, he wouldn’t know about the ruckus that had resulted from the first meeting between their Captain and her friend Kinin.
Back then, she and Kinin had been roommates. She smiled at the memories of that time and Kinin’s first tastes of her cooking.
An Andorian Thaan passed her going in the other direction and nodded politely without meeting her eyes as was their custom. Andorians were very free in community groups and very rarely were they ever alone so their privacy was only inside their heads. Therefore, their society avoided eye contact outside their Quad or family unit.
He gave the appropriate antenna salute to a Zhen with an occupied pouch, glanced at her Antenna ring and then simply left the bar.
She didn’t see that many Andorians in Starfleet so she wasn’t quite sure if she should take that as a snub worthy of notice. He wasn’t even distantly related nor was he likely to be. She’d have to get used to it she supposed. Her relationship was certainly not ‘normal’ by her race’s standards, she’d be snubbed and judged and rejected.
Tiria set her bags on the bench of a booth and slid in after them. Then when the waiter came over she ordered Fridd and when she found out they had a fresh shipment of Redbat, she just had to have a sandwich.
The twins were active but they’d not yet emerged. Though she could feel them moving around and one particularly hard kick had her feeling her Keth. There was no sign of the seal parting so she knew it would be a little while.
The waiter returned with her Fridd and said her sandwich would be ready shortly. She nodded her thanks and took a sip of the cold Andorian Tea.
