With a pile of PADDs in her arms, Morgan entered the library, setting the devices down on the counter of the main desk. "All finished," she said to the clerk, "what else do you have for me to do?"
The man laughed, "are you sure you just don't want to relax, Commander" he asked. Morgan shook her head, "We've been here too long as it is," she said, "I want to get back out there."
She looked longingly out the window behind his back, then tapped a finger on the PADDs. "All empty, data wiped clean, just as you ordered Sir." She gave a mock salute to the Ensign.
He puffed out his chest, finding it hilarious that a Commander of Starfleet would be asking him for chores that any peon could be doing. He glanced around the room, "er... you could check under the cushions for lost items," he said, his eyes twinkling, "I once found a--" He blushed, "--um... nevermind."
"I can only imagine," Morgan said, leaning her elbows on the high counter. "So, what do you do for fun around here? I've already played enough poker... I'm now banned for life... and holosuites are only fun for a while."
"Take out a shuttle," he said, "go zipping around on your own. I'm sure you're allowed."
"Flying is not one of my strong suits," she replied. She smirked, remembering some of her near misses in the Academy.
"We just got in some really, er, interesting Orion holovids," he said, his eyebrows going up and down.
"Pass," Morgan laughed, "a gal can get a complex watching all those well-built women. Besides, what I hear in some of my sessions would make those vids look like social documentaries."
"You could go get drunk," he suggested, quickly running out of ideas.
"Hm. Tempting..." She sighed, "drunk or bored. What a choice." She glanced over at the soft couches in the middle of the room, "maybe I'll just go sit over there a while until you find something else meaningless for me to do." She winked at him and he made a face at her.
Moving over to the couch, she sat down, crossing her legs. One of her hands roamed over the seat and behind the cushion. She was surprised when they found something round and hard. Pulling it out, she held it up to the light. An amber-colored crystal of some sort.
