"I...."
The one word spoke volumes to Ruune as if it was song, like the tune of an alien bird he once heard on a very distant planet. He stared down at the woman who had since turned away, unable to meet his gaze. Until now he had considered this woman strong in her ideas, and they were strong but her confidence was lacking right now, unable to remain eye-to-eye with something she believed was right of which she may very well be correct about.
People were predictable and yet unpredictable, they were both aware of this. It would seem she was predicting the worse, probably the scenario that he might hit her, by all accounts despite his thoughts of not harming people, he may do just that.
"I apologize if I've offended you."
An apology, an escape route which was only natural in accordance to the fight or flight rule of survival for every living being. He didn't say anything but continued to watch her, she had said anything else nor left until she surprised him by bending over to take the flower from the ground, she offered it to him.
He frowned, was it an offer of surrender? If it was, it was pitful. To his own surprise however, he took the flower and slowly twirled it around through his fingers, staring at it.
"I should be going. It was nice making your acquaintance, Ruune. Maybe we will cross paths again."
"It was nice," Ruune was sincere but his tongue felt sour upon saying it, "Perhaps we shall." Was all Ruune said before watching her leave. He stared at the dying flower in his grip, was there any chance of survival? Being ripped from the home, cast in a new land... the roots were broken, there was nothing left for it fall back on to win against the enviroment.
The Hirogen bent over and placed the flower back where it had been taken from the soil before making his exit of the garden.
End Ruune
