Mac was elated. There was a spring in his step as he walked down the corridor towards the Pi in the Sky. He had wanted to tell Carlos at the gym his good news but something had gotten in the way and that something was a very sexy manager of residences that basically stole center stage and drew the attention of all the men, including his own. Of course that something was not unpleasant to look at but still all the same it stole his thunder. But now the entire bar and staff would be there to share his news.
But when he entered the bar he found anything but a happy little work place. The floor behind the bar and the area directly in front where the bar stools sat was covered with an inch of liquid. His elated mood quickly deflated as his foot steps splashed and foamed on the carpet.
"Oh good Lord, what happened?" he looked at his head bartender, Tony Lockwood.
"I don't know, sir. It was like that when I came in. Apparently the replicator malfunctioned during the night and started shooting draft beer out everywhere," he answered his boss's query.
Luckily Tony had already called for maintenance as a man was squatted down trying to fix the replicator. He had gotten the foamy brew to stop spewing everywhere.
"What happened?" he asked the maintenance man.
"It looks as though someone turned off the warning sensor on the replicator and set it to make an indefinite order of draft beers. If your bartender hadn't gotten here in time your whole bar would have been flooded."
"Any way of finding out who did this?" he asked. "Maybe security has a record of who entered and at what time."
"You'll have to ask security about that, sir," the man said and continued working on the replicator.
"Great!" Mac gave an exasperated moan and took a stool at the bar. At that precise moment he needed a drink.
