You'll need to hold your breath but just for a few strokes. Let me go first, I'll send you back a signal that it's ok to come through."
Sterling hated swimming, for the most part. He was alright with soaking in a pool or hot tub, but when it came to physical effort like stokes and breath holding… those things were honestly better left to the bedroom.
”I heard mixed opinions about him among the station… just wondered what you thought?”
“Tazer is the consummate man’s man,” Sterling said. “In a world where many are calm, accommodating, and emotional, Tazer can come off as overly aggressive or unrefined.” Sterling had to admit that the latter was something that was difficult for him to see past. “His heart seems to be in the right place, though.” What lie 2 feet lower, on the other hand, was a completely different story.
“I guess that’s the sign,”
“The sign is always a glowing green light,” Sterling mused. He thought of The Great Gatsby, and how the light stood for jealousy, longing, desire. Emotions that he himself had rarely, if ever, felt. He gestured with one hand, wishing for Halsey to go first. Meanwhile, he looked all around the area. Was there a way for walls to go down into the water, trapping him in that little underwater tunnel. There was always the possibility that Halsey or Ziana could hold him under there too… Squeezing his eyes shut, he took a deep breath. He was being completely and utterly paranoid.
He watched Halsey go through, then waited for a few moments so he wouldn’t run into the other man. Sighing he, dived under the water, wondering what this was going to do to his hair. I hope we’re not going anywhere important after this, he thought. Several quick strokes later, he emerged on the other side with Halsey and Ziana. The underground pool seemed to continue on, into the semi-darkness, and he awaited Ziana’s next directions.
