It had been a month since Spike joined the Talon. It had seemed odd at first to walk along a Starship and not see the old familiar faces nor the same corridors he walked down in his old assignment. He had been busy over the past month attempting to show what skills he had however he found it hard to socialise with the rest of the crew. They seemed to have a bond already there, something he did not think he had with his last crew. He normally did his shift and went to the gym or holodeck to improve his physical performance, maybe saying a few words to his fellow crew members. He really awaited danger and to enter a battle however it seemed quiet.
Spike often thought about his week on the Starbase and the people he met there. Now this was different, back in his uniform so he could do his job role. He decided to check out the bar for once on the Talon. He was not a fan of crowds however he knew he had to get his face shown eventually to those who had not come across him. Spike entered Eagle's Nest and walked towards the bar. He took a quick look around and smiled to himself as he noticed it was not as busy as he thought it would have been. It seemed rather peaceful, small conversations and nothing too rowdy. Spike straightened out his uniform as he walked towards a table by the window looking out to space. He took a seat and began to stare outside, his own thoughts inside his mind.
He was thinking about the Talarian colony, as a child always looking up towards the sky and wondering when he would be fighting in the Talarian army. He had grown quite a lot from those days as a person. Being with Starfleet had helped him tolerate more alien races as well as women, who once he considered only good for giving birth. Not that he could help with the views he was taught. He had to thank his old Captain for that, at least she was understanding. No one seemed to know really about his past and he liked that. He was a quiet man and rather keep everything to himself, maybe let a bit slip to explain some actions and decisions he made. His thought process however was interrupted by a young human female.
"Would you like a drink?" She spoke with a soft, gentle voice.
"Just a sweet milky coffee please." He replied politely.
He continued to gaze out the window as his drink was placed onto the table. He picked up the white cup and took a quick sip, placing it down again. He turned his head back to the window and was distracted by footsteps approaching him. He glanced around and gave a small smile, not sure who was approaching him straight away, "Hello." He said as he sat up straight to look more professional.
